The thread is going off on a tangent. Please stick to the OP’s topic. Take any side discussions to new or existing threads. Thank you all.

What I tell people at Mass when I know that there are non-Catholics present is:

“May those Catholics who are prepared to receive Communion please come forward.”

👍
Now wouldn’t something like that make a good one liner like the OP asked for?

Please, only Catholic’s, in good standing with the Church, may come forward to receive Holy Communion.

Plus, you could ask the Priest that an announcement be made at the proper time.

I’m actually in the exact same boat (wedding in 11 days and counting!), but I know that I’m going to need an announcement that’s a bit more specific about what constitutes a state of grace. There will be too many fallen away Catholics might need the reminder.

I would not mention the bride and groom, I would copy the blurb in the back of the missalette exactly as written since it includes a welcome for non-Catholics to join in spiritual communion. The bride and groom are not asking, the Church is laying down the law.
I like this. The other option, too, is to ask the priest marrying you to make an announcement prior to receiving communion. For most of the weddings I’ve been a musician for, the priest will make an announcement about it, but it’s not always the case. So, it’s wise to ask him to make it.
