Your post seem to be somewhat disrespectful of Pastafarianism which happens to be the fastest growing religion in the world. Hope the mods stop by soon.

If Mr. Alm is, indeed, required to wear this headgear as part of his religious profession of Pastafarianism, then I would expect to see him wearing it at school, at work, while riding the bus, while driving his car, while out shopping, while at the bar with friends, and indeed any time that he is out in public.

Right? Because as far as I know, that’s what everyone else who wears religious headgear does. Have you ever seen a Jew without his yarmulka, or a Sikh without his turban? Or a Muslim woman without her headscarf? 🤷

I would also expect to see other Pastafarians wearing such headgear any time they are out in public, as well. I know a few - I’ve never seen them wearing pasta strainers on their heads, though. (Perhaps they aren’t sincere in their commitment to Pastafarianism. One may only hope.) 🤷

  1. Pastafarianism is not a religion - it despises religion, especially organized religion.
  2. Pastafarianism mocks theism. Surely you believe that it’s not healthy to mock anyone - no matter sex, race, or creed.
  3. These people are permitted to openly display mockery against God, yet if we dare criticize them we are called
  • a) ignorant
  • b) humorless
  • c) oppressive
  • or d) all of the above
  1. Why do they get the right to openly mock us, yet if we criticize their mockery - even in a way of defense for our faith - we are thrown to the dogs?
EDIT: The guy’s picture in the article looks more like a mugshot than a driver’s license photo. 😛

Even a spagnostic can tell he’s a heretic. Everyone knows Pastafarians only proselytize in full pirate regalia.
😃 :rotfl:

Antipastafanarianists?

Or is it antipastites?

And where does that leave people who have abandoned pastafanarianism alltogether? Are they apastites?

I’m done.

Perhaps Mr. Alm was making a point within a context that’s lost to us outside of Austria’s political sphere? In any event, I find expressions of Pastafarianism here in America to be tasteless.

His particular sect only requires wearing head gear for identification cards. I doubt if the pope wear his head gear while at the bar with friends.

Insulting as well as being disrespectful. Tsk Tsk.

Possibly. I would still require him to wear his pasta strainer at any and all times that he is out in public, since he has already claimed that it is a requirement of his religion.

I wouldn’t know - the only Pastafarians I’ve ever known were 17 year old boys. After that, they grew up.

On my campus, the Student Secular Alliance is big into this parody religion thing. One of the reasons I had to leave the group, I couldn’t stand it.

I couldn’t tell you. I do know that most of the priests I know wear their collars at all times, even at the bar, with friends. (There is one who doesn’t - but then again, he doesn’t wear it in Church, either.)

Looks to me like a “Pastafarian” (this is the first I’ve ever hear of this) could potentially “make a point” to get away with whatever he wants…:hmmm: 🤷
