Why whenever a disaster happens we blame God for it, or for not preventing it!!!

Is it God the one who engineered that airplane like when He did for the ark or its the human beings!

Is it God the one who failed to do maintenance to that airplane or its that greedy company which ignored previous warnings and continued flying!

Maybe I should repeat my post somewhere…

As I said, even our God is bound to obey His own laws since the dawn of creation. In short, divine laws, universal laws, scientifical laws, laws of matter and energy, human anatomy, gravity laws, chemical compositions, etc. until the sun rises from west to east! We develop and engineer things in accordance with those laws. If there’s a failure (because some people disobey) it’s on us, NOT God.

If somebody’s not doing his job right then expect an accident to happen.
Most airplanes are properly checked and tested and are still safe to fly.

Why one child was saved? Certainly it is a miracle! *God favors *for some reason and we must accept that fact. He favored Mary, our blessed mother, Peter the apostle (he rescued him from prison by sending an angel), Paul the gentile, and many other holy people. I’m not saying that everyone aboard that plane was not holy and only the child is. My point is maybe it still is not enough in His sight for the others to obtain that favor that they should be spared from such a horrible death.

It’s only through fear and obedience and conformance to His power and commandments that we can find favor from Him. We can not obtain favor by doing bad or by complaining or by blaming Him or worse… by saying He doesn’t even exist!

It’s all I’ve got. God bless…🙂

Sorry, poorly phrased on my part. I meant “Perhaps nothing can prove to an atheist that God exists, but this survivor certainly does (exist)”.

Well then start examining your own self. You’re not just a cluster of cells or atoms or neurons came out from nothing.

Good luck.😉

Sorry, poorly phrased on my part. I meant “Perhaps nothing can prove to an atheist that God exists, but this survivor certainly does (exist)”.
Ah, I gotcha.
You are right, the survivor does exist 🙂

If you read any of my above posts, you can see that I addressed how God acts in mysterious ways. We will never know the reason as to why He has let this happen. But He has His reasons…and even though we may not understand them, they’re good ones.
You still write from the assumption that god exists to being with.

The claim made was that this sole survivor is proof that god exists. Your post here assumes that he exists and from that standpoint you claim that he moves in mysterious ways.
Even that statement has a few things wrong with it, like some claim that he moves in mysterious ways, yet others claim to know his will and others still claim that he speaks to them outright about his plans.
But I digress. 🙂

Why would this incident prove the existence of God?.
Because something very incredible happened. A 13 year old person out of 152 passangers survived. This tells us that through God all things are possible.
If you pose this question to an atheist, they will say, “Well, why didn’t God save everyone while he was at it? Why didn’t God prevent the plane from crashing into the ocean? Why didn’t he guide it to land to allow it to make a safe landing?”.
What? Planes land safely ALL the time, but how many people do you see praising God and giving Him thanks for allowing man to have a mysterious brain in order to construct such a model as a plane? How many passengers step outside planes and do the sign of the cross, how many even think about God. Very very little. Most humans don’t care nor think about God at the slightest. We don’t even appreciate little things, so what is the outcome? God punishes us. How? Not by keeping us in line-far from it- He allows to sin more (because of our free will) we then start to appreciate less and become more greedy. This of course leads to general sin. So when this happens, we drift away from God and the Truth. We start to LIE to ourselves and convince us that praising God or searching for Him in NOT important. This of course leads only to more problems because now that we have no guide from our Eternal Father, the enemy starts to lead our lives. When he takes control, God has no choice but to step back and allow you to make bad decision because of your evil roots. This is why bad things happen. One sin leads to another. But thank God He doesn’t allow us to utterly destroy ourselves. This is why mysterious catastrophes happen, because God through His mysterious wisdom ALWAYS brings Good out of evil. A lot of people do have a change of heart through severe conditions such as illness, or disastrous events like the one we are talking about (the plane crash). When people realize that God punishes us, they turn to HIM because it His way of calling us.
****But look at the 152 who died. Their families are torn, hurting. The outcome was nothing close to a miracle for them. It was a tragedy. A huge tragedy. There would be no talk of a miracle among them. .
Miracles will not happen to everybody if that was the case the whole world would convert to Catholics but not because of free will but it is the ONLY alternative. God doesn’t force nothing upon us, if we draw closer to Him the closer He draws to us. That is fact.
****So yeah. Don’t embarrass yourself by asking this question of an atheist in real life. The atheist will probably do nothing short of laugh at you.

And honestly, even when I was a Christian, this event would not have been sufficient proof of God’s existence for me. I never would have used it in an argument.

I’m sorry but you addressed atheists, so I’m gonna say this:

This actually exactly proves his non existence, since a being of love that involves himself in our lives, should then save all 153 people, not so?

If this proves god then I definitely don’t want to follow him…if he saved the little girl, was the other 152 not good enough? Did the other children and women not deserve to live? Did they not pray hard enough? Or was he just too busy to get to the others?
Was the other 152 not good enough? Do you not know we believers believe in an after life? Maybe it was the perfect time for those 152 to die so they can inherit heaven. Or maybe they were evil doers who would have done nothing but mislead more of Gods creations. Death is not the end for us believers, nor for you atheists. What I am trying to say is only because a person dies it dosent nessery mean they failed at eternal life.

We didnt’ come from nothing, far from it…
Then from what did we come from. Please tell me, last time I debated an atheist he told me "I dont know" so go head, I am interested. How did life originate?

I`m expecting a better answer then dabigbangdidit!

No, it’s not “the big bang did it”. Have you heard of Abiogenesis? That’s the theory being worked on right now. All the items necessary to create life is and was present on earth around the time life started on earth. Heck, they even found the building blocks for life on a deep space comet that entered our solar system. The building blocks are abundant out there. Enzymes, Proteins, etc. The earth was violent, volcanoes, lighting outbursts, radiation from the sun, whatever…1+1 only has to equal 2 once and life started.

But, just because science hasn’t reached a solid conclusion, doesn’t mean that you automatically have to insert god into the blank space and then claim that it’s a fact. We can claim that we don’t know because the theories out there on how life originated are still in the early stages. We are not people of blind faith.
It’s a big question you know.

I’d rather spend the time researching it and find a proven theory than just blindly say “goddidit”. It’s far more unrealistic to insert god into every (as yet) unknown and unexplained question. It’s called the “God of the gaps” argument, and it’s pretty weak. And, of course, with each scientific breakthrough your god of the gaps become smaller and smaller.

Come back when you can find plausible answers and not just blindly claim “goddidit” without a shred of proof. You mention that you debated an atheist…with that god of the gaps theory, I’m sure it was not a debate, he most probably, like me, saw that your arguments don’t hold any water.

Oh, friend…you do digress. What is your* best* argument against “claims” that God* does* exist and “moves in mysterious ways…”?
That there is** no** proof of His existence? This “claim” is an outright affront to human reason and sensibility, that has no foundation in truth, logic, scientific theory, or intrinsic values. Proofs of God’s** intelligent design are all around you!
Creation could not be a “random operation”. We are endowed with faculties that easily blow that
* illusion*** right out of the hemisphere!
Every breath we take should be a cause for wonder and gratitude to Our Good and Loving God, who is Lord of the Universe, King of the Cosmos!
You really must get to know Him, He is closer to you than you are to yourself, my friend.
May you open your heart-even a “crack”-just to ask Him to reveal Himself to you…
You are created in His image and likeness, out of His infinite Love!
May you have the faith and trust to believe! Thanks for seeking answers on CAF.

Really? All I see is nature. To try to inject god into a naturally evolved ecosystem is overcomplicating things tremendously and has nothing to do with logic or scientific theory. So, when you hear a voice speaking to you, when you pray to an invisible man, how is this scientific? How is this simplifying anything. It’s not scientific, it’s not proven. It’s a bunch of unfounded, unproven claims that you hear voices…but specifically the creator of the universe’s voice. Yeah, okay.
Intelligent design is just that “goddidit” theory that I spoke about in my previous thread. When you don’t know the answer you automatically inject god into that gap.
It’s not a good argument.
Creation could not be a “random operation”. We are endowed with faculties that easily blow that*** illusion*** right out of the hemisphere!

Creation is most certainly not random. Natural selection moves in a very specific process to keep the best traits and remove the worst ones. Our facilities are used to observe nature and understand how it works. The problem comes in when people who don’t understand a particular faceted of nature, they automatically ascribe it to this creator guy, just because at least it’s an answer where otherwise they would have to say we don’t know yet…and that obviously frighten them.
You really must get to know Him, He is closer to you than you are to yourself, my friend.
How can I get to know someone that does not exist?
May you open your heart-even a “crack”-just to ask Him to reveal Himself to you…
I tried that many times…he’s just not there, trust me.
You are created in His image and likeness, out of His infinite Love!
really, and you know this how?

May you have the faith and trust to believe! Thanks for seeking answers on CAF.Thanks. I know your post was sincere and heartfelt, and for that, thanks.

Well, Bear_Claw, you cannot convince me neither how those enzymes and proteins and building blocks you mentioned found each other to become beautiful human beings like us able to talk, reason, and dream unless, of course, you are from different crop because I don’t see you. I hope you don’t look like a blob.

Another thing, when you do your research, can you find out for us just where that deep space comet came from? I suggest for you to get more funding from the govt because that would be an enormous mission to undertake. I mean… just creating a spaceship to follow that comet is a huge amount of money.

Good luck.

So, you don’t know of Evolution? Maybe you should research that…Oh wait, are you someone who believes that the earth is 6,000 years old?

Thanks. I know your post was sincere and heartfelt, and for that, thanks.

“Ever since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what He has made.” (Romans 1:20)

“For what can be known about God is evident to them because God made it evident to them…” (Rom 1:19)
“As a result, they have no excuse, for although they knew God, they did not accord Him glory as God, or give Him thanks…instead, they became vain in their reasoning and their senseless minds were darkened…” (Rom 1:22)

“While claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man…” (Rom 1:23)

“Reason’s last step, is the recognition that there are an infinite number of things which are beyond it.” (Blaise Pascal)

My heartfelt prayers for your understanding and peace, dear friend.

I’ve done my research a long long time ago re evolution or darwinism - even the bigbangdidit theory. I wasn’t impressed nor convinced. A blind man wasn’t convinced either.

No. I don’t believe the earth is 6000 years old nor I believe in carbon-dating. No exact science can prove the earth is X yr old exactly. Approximation is just as good as a guess. Formulations can only provide you good numbers.

With due respect, I believe you cannot answer my questions practically - I won’t respond anymore re evolution theories. I really cannot depend my life on just some scientific theories.

God is an absolute being. I hope you’ll find that out sooner in your life.

Thanks. May our God bless you.👋

So, in the face of scientific evidence you still side with unproven word of mouth hearsay? Yeah, then we are truly speaking past each other and I truly don’t think you did research, or it was Christian based “research”
With due respect, I believe you cannot answer my questions practically - I won’t respond anymore re evolution theories.
It’s not a theory in the sense that you use the word. It’s a fact. Ever heard of the theory of gravity? Same thing.
Again, your answers don’t show me any research done, due to your level of understanding of scientific theory vs. Fact.
I really cannot depend my life on just some scientific theories.
As above: “It’s not a theory in the sense that you use the word. It’s a fact. Ever heard of the theory of gravity? Same thing.
Again, your answers don’t show me any research done, due to your level of understanding of scientific theory vs. Fact.”

And I have to repeat: “in the face of scientific evidence you still side with unproven word of mouth hearsay?”
God is an absolute being.
Before we can even begin to try to quantify god we have to know that he even exists in the first place. And the only proof that this thread alleged to was the survival of a small child.
I hope you’ll find that out sooner in your life.
I think rather you need to do some solid research, find out the facts of evolution, and carbon dating, etc and then we will continue speaking. Then we’ll be comparing apples with apples. Now we are comparing apples with invisible, bright neon orange peanuts.

Talk to you later 👋
