OP:

I apologize that my wording and phrasing has caused confusion and argument on this thread. Some of it goes back to other threads and it should not be in play here.

Is this an issue in NFP for you guys? When I used NFP and we disagreed about having a child it was a stress. When I was an NFP instructor I found this to be a stressor for some couples. Since your post is directly related to when only one is ready to start a family I think it is quite on the subject to address how this might play into NFP practice. Is you husband more into participating in NFP because he is wanting to avoid?
I don’t mind talking about this. I’m 100% honest with hubby about my cycle. Abstaining can be hard, but we’re very strong willed and can get through it. I know what you mean about using sex as a lure, but I try not to. Even if I did, hubby is too tough to fall for that 🙂

Good for you, LumenaPaxTecum. It takes sacrifice, obedience, self-restraint, and mutual respect to abstain when a pregnancy is untimely. Those virtues are character building in and of themselves. Coming here and asking for advice on presenting a case to your hubby, rather than sneakily, selfishly, connivingly taking matters into your own hands… is itself a sign of your respect for your hubby. Ignore the rubbish questioning your virtue.

Edit: to welcome a fellow Aussie! 👍

Longing soul. Please back off.

No one questioned her virtue. And she happily answered.

Geesh.
