No we don’t have, “one masculine and one feminine”. [Why is there no face-palm emote?] A bicameral brain is one single brain with two hemispheres intimately connected by the Corpus Callosum. Bicameral Doesn’t mean two brains; it means two chambers which is referring to the two hemispheres.

If by this you mean that all knowledge comes, not merely ultimately, but immediately from God then your theology is more faulty than your neurology.
The two hemispheres are basically two brains in one. Yes there is a Corpus Callosum that connects the two hemispheres, but still they act like two brains. I know this stuff. There is a paper by D. Vulich, which covers this in detail. For the sake of simplicity, let’s just go with two hemispheres instead of two brains in my above example!

All knowledge ULTIMATELY comes from God.

All this is really taking things off topic. I just used the brain as a possible example. I never thought it would grow into an issue and take my post off track.

For such a short post this is very confused.
Saying it was no conspiracy simply was meant to convey that it’s all the work of God. Yes, Satan distorts and hides the true facts, but this how Satan works. With this type of explanation in mind, we could say that most everything in this life is a conspiracy.

If you insist, yes, we can say it’s a conspiracy of Satan, of which there are many other “conspiracies.”

Please, let us get this thread back on topic. I have so much more to say. 🙂

Have you studied they history of computer technology? do you know of Charles Babbage and Alan Turing? Do you know how transistors work? These are machines. complex maybe, but beyond human capability? hardly. True much of what is necessary came through geniuses such as Einstein. We could not have microchips nearly as fast as ours without the quantum sciences, but if you want to make a study of it you can go from beginning to end of computing history noting the advent of each technology and idea along the way.
It’s all a smokescreen as far as I can see. Satan really has control of the deceptions that does not allow us to see the “conspiracy.” Yes, history is written so as to hide the true source of our technology.

The main thing I would like to convey is the development of the world over the past 150 years or so. Does it all add up given our very limited innate wit? Be humble, and ask how it all happened?

Do you mind me asking if you have a specialized occupation? If so how many years did it take for you to reach the skill level that you are at now in your occupation.

Well if you believe all of history is a lie of the devil there is not much I can say to you, but that if you go around spreading this anti-rational silliness, don’t be surprised if you are thought by most to be insane.

If I understand you rightly, you are saying all knowledge of technology came immediately from God, but Satan has conspired to hide this fact and convince us that we had some hand in it.

Bull. God gave us each a perfectly good intellect which we make frequent use of to design and build things. In conclusion, you desperately need a hobby.

Yes, I’m a research psychologist turned religious (I traded my career in psychology for the freedom to worship God and read the scriptures). I feel my skill are increasing everyday.

Your tone does not convey respect for my thoughts and experiences. You’re trying to belittle me instead of addressing the issue at hand. I realize that my beliefs are going to be scrutinized closely, and that many will disagree at the onset. But think about it closely and tell me that the technological advances over the past 150 years came from our very limited innate wit. You do not address this! It’s simple addition of all the technology present and the total lack of people with the knowledge and knowhow of making it all come to pass.

Cool. I’ll also assume that one would not be able to dive right into psychology and achieve the skill level that you did over a short period of time and that you’ve got several years of education, training, and experience in that profession.

It’s the same way with respect to the technological marvels that you’ve mentioned. They tend to be from an orchestration of the application of skills of many specialist. In many cases these specialist may have also acquired their skills from many years of education, training, and experience. It’s unlikely that there is any one person that has the full skill set and time resources to do it on his or her own. Likewise I don’t think there’s any one person that has the time resources to specialize in all fields of technology and science to develop a full understanding off what goes on behind all the technology that we see today. Trying to do so would be overwhelming; there’s too much for any single person.

But where are these ‘technological marvels’ hiding? How many do you know personally? Try adding up the great number of ‘technological marvels’ needed to get our technological world to where it is today and see if things add up.Take a close look at things and all the engineering geniuses necessary to produce what you see.

That’s a bit of a vague question. It kind of sounds like you are asking for all of the people in society that have in some way or another made a contribution. Am I understanding that correctly?

I’m interested in the overall level of wit necessary for the technological advances over the past 150 years and comparing it to the level of innate wit we would expect from the individuals that supposedly made it all possible. Does it all add up? I’m saying that there appears to be a huge deficit between the wit necessary for this technology to have taken place and that innate wit found in the average engineer or machine builder. I’m also interested in the sheer number of engineers and machine builders necessary for the technology we see in the world.

Again, every plastic knob or other apparatus needs the designing and construction of a plastic injection mold. These shops are few in number and always have been. Simply saying that these things are made abroad does not account for the advances made before we started outsourcing of these intricate tasks.

Show me any research suggesting that we use 100% of these brains.
Heh, no, that’s not how debate works. In any event as you’ve already said science is hogwash, how come you’re asking to see research?

You made the spectacular claim that we only use 10% of our brains and it’s for you to substantiate it. When you done that I’ll give evidence for my counter-claim if necessary, although it’s only the null hypothesis.
Yes, I believe ALL knowledge flows from God. Belief in anything less is heresy of the worst sort.
Sure, banishing your opponents is so much easier than logical argument. 🙂

Let me get this straight: you’re saying it’s Catholic dogma that God passed on the idea for the iPod to Apple, giving Samsung only inferior knowledge? How about the V-1 flying bomb? Are you saying God gave the Nazis that knowledge and it’s heresy to say He didn’t?

It may also be interesting to note that according to Jewish mysticism there exists multiple worlds, with our world being the absolute lowest.
Mystics don’t tend to have too much grasp on where their next meal is coming from, they tend to think the world owes them a living, and for that reason can safely be ignored. There’ll be another bunch down the road who think the exact opposite anyway.

i agree. go back to just 100 years ago and that’s only 1912. narrow that down to even when i was a kid… that advances are amazing. we’re getting assistance from somebody or somewhere…

Okay, I see. It may be difficult to explore that since most of the individuals that have lived during that time frame are dead. And I doubt that you’ll be able to find information on the measures of their “wit” to “add up.” Perhaps you could describe how you performed these operations?

An injection mold is one solution, but not the only solution. There are other tools available for producing them. When I was in high school we made use of mills, lathes, and (all of which could be automated). My final project in high school was to construct a router that could be automated.

But if you want to go with a mold a fast way of production would be to draft a knob on a CAD system, have a CNC lathe (or 3D printer) produce a few knobs, make some molds from that, and get the manufacturing machinery running.
These shops are few in number and always have been.
I don’t know what the actual numbers are, but because of automation you would not need a lot of shops to produce a lot of knobs. Automated manufacturing machinery started to show up as far back as 200 years ago.
Simply saying that these things are made abroad does not account for the advances made before we started outsourcing of these intricate tasks.
Can’t really say that I’ve considered knob production an intricate task. Perhaps it’s because it’s because making some use of manufacturing techniques was part of my high school education (a three year course I took simply titled “Technology.”). I graduated from high school in the 1990’s , but even then we learned how both use automated machinery and design and construct machines for automation.

St John of the Cross, St Teresa of Avila, etc. they were all mystics. Mysticism abounds in prominent Hasidic sect of Jews.

Yes of course it does. One big factor is modern science, which is incomparably better than philosophy or theology at working out how to cure diseases, build ships and put men on the Moon. The explanation is straight forward, whereas your claim that all technological knowledge ultimately flows from God is, let’s be honest, a bit out there, especially if the only justification is a vague feeling that things are happening a bit fast.

I never made any claim that we used 10% of our brain: that was merely one possible explanation that I used as an example. Let us get back on track.

I believe all knowledge and wisdom emanates from God. Yes the knowledge that Hitler possessed came from God, but Hitler used it to promote evil as a result of his God-given freewill…

Suffice it to say that we disagree. I’m saying that the technology over the past 150 year is beyond the innate wit of us humans. I’m really not sure of your arguments, but it sure sounds like you disagree with me!
