But why was it necessary for you to worry? I think it’s because you now note a personality of the institution that is dangerous to the moral influence of your child. The positive things it provides are no longer part and parcel of the benefits to your child that you took in confidence, they now are instruments of enticement to keep you sending them there, and their hope it will balance out with the bad they chose to hold onto at your child’s expense. They are willing to wager the future of your child for their own pride. As a parent of twin boys who were very involved in Boy Scouts, I would not have wanted them to be subjected to a homosexual boy who openly flaunts his tendancies. I would have especially objected to allowing them in a Den lead by a homosexual. I would not have trusted their safety on camp-outs or other overnight activities.
Sometimes our disruption starts further along in the compounding process where we can have questionable effect, on occasions we are presented with opportunities where we can “nip it in the bud”.
But do you note the modus that is similar to other organizations/institutions? The Nazis had the best hospital care for their patients, and these received kindness for those who they deemed not mentally ill, or were fortunate enough to look Arien and not have mongoloid features, otherwise that beneficial medicine in the syringe was replaced by something more sinister.
For years I have supported the Salvation Army since they have been kind to me in the past. It really hurt me to stop supporting them because of their stance on abortions. They continually receive opportunities to turn back on controversial issues. They don’t realize their good efforts are diluted by their adamant position. But again, tracing problems to their roots, we know they obtain their moral support through protestant doctrine, who we know are guided by human desires. So that is not surprising to us, since we know man does not obtain recognition from God for the good he does until man has mended the rift he created. I’m not aware if they have changed their stance.
Our job in these cases is to distance ourselves from them and to not stop in our persuasion. It pains us to see the good tarnished by obstinate evil. If one day they should decide to respond to the graces that God has enlightened them with(through protests, by sound arguments, by listening to God’s Authority on this earth, the Church, etc) then we can once again send our children their.
Until then we are to do our part in sending that message in every way.
