Opera tells story of Carmelite martyrs, comes to Newark cathedral (CNA)

NEWARK, May 07 (CNA) - An opera, which tells the true story of 16 Carmelite nuns who were martyred during the French Revolution, will be performed at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark this month.

Only $20 - $40 for tickets??? Wow, that’s a bargain!

I just saw the Lyric production of this a couple months back. Hearing the nuns sing a setting of the Salve Regina while they get chopped down is breathtaking.

Go see/hear it!
