I am so sorry to hear about your daughter! Prayers going up for her and for you. May God watch over you and bring you safely through.

It’s an interesting podcast. I do see why you thought so and I hope more will come on to discuss it. Obviously as a Catholic I think we’re still ‘right’ on the teachings but it is food for thought.

Again, prayers for you and your daughter.

Are you a child? The difference is that your church allows gay clergy, they actually ordain them knowing full well what the bible says about gay activity. The point I am making is that they are going against the scriptures. That is the point.
It’s not about what people are doing behind closed doors, it’s about what the church permits openly.
Hi Zundrah,

I hope you are doing well today!

I began this Thread. I’ve just now been able to catch up with the posts.

Knowing that you are not Anglican nor Orthodox, I understand that you will obviously disagree with the teachings of Anglicanism as well as with the podcast from which this Thread gets it’s name.

That being said, I would like you to treat other posters on this Thread with RESPECT. You certainly do not have to agree with anything there, but please if you must post make sure that your posts are respectful of the people even if you disagree with the ideas or teachings they hold.

We have all been created in the Image and Likeness of God and should be treated as such. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - isn’t that Jesus’ Golden Rule?

You can certainly disagree, but please do so Respectfully.

Thank you,
Monica

Thank you so much!!! Apparently, this condition’s symtoms will come and go. The doctor expects her to continue having problems for the next week or so and then it should subside for a while. I spoke with another parent whose child has the same condition and he says that his daughter suffers the symptoms about once a year for about a week and a half. That’s not too bad, but it sure was scarey when we had no idea what was going on!

Of course, no one here has to agree with the content as we’re all from different Faiths. But I’m with you, I think that it is interesting. I’m interested to see the discussion it generates.

I feel bad that the Anglican posters here are getting attacked. I don’t know if they’ve listened to the podcast as they’ve been busy defending themselves - that’s not what this Thread was intended to become. This is not a war, this is a conversation. I hope.

Okay Monica, that’s all well… but that man did just call me a peadophile? Is that mature?

He didn’t call you a pedophile at all, Zundrah. He said “following your logic” which means, you are lumping all the Anglicans into guilt by association or generalization of them even though provinces of Anglicanism are vast and varied and motley. If you see a couple gay Anglican priests and assume all of them are, Mark is saying that your logic would dictate that a few Catholic molestors would make ALL Catholics a bunch of molestors, which would be equally ludicrous. It’s like racism. I get mugged in San Francisco by a black guy so that means all blacks are mugging thugs. You did this with the few cases of gay Anglicans. Anglicans are so varied in ecclesiology, theology, outlook, and worship as well as values that it’s the ultimate foot-in-mouth to generalize them. And Father Mark was merely pointing out the flawed logic, not calling you a molestor of course…

But I was saying that his CHURCH allows gay clergy as if it is okay, I didn’t mean to say that all Anglicans are gay! That’s just silly.

I have no hard feelings with “Father” Mark, but I think he may have left this thread now because of what I said. But he brought up the whole peadophile thing.

Question - What does the Anglican Communion consider a “church”? Diocese? Each province? The whole AC? “The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church”?

I ask because it seems the COE and Episcopalians are a very small part, population wise, of the AC. The Africans, who are a majority of the AC, are not often accused of being gay.

(Oh, and MarkBrown, as someone who was raised in Florida and considers myself a Floridian, I am not amused by your “Exiled to Florida” location. The country is like a big tent, and can accommodate states with a wide variety of climates and industries and peoples. Perhaps we should institute a listening process to respectfully share our experiences in our various states to develop understanding and acceptance?)

I don’t understand a word you are saying, but you’ll probably use that against me, as most people on forums do.

Heh heh…

Just asking, what is 'his church" that you are referring to? The Church of England? The Episcopalian Church (TEC)? Mark Brown is a priest in the Anglican Church of North America, which was formed in a large part by people disaffected by TECs acceptance of gay clergy. They would be known as conservative.

…erm, I don’t know, just Anglicans in general I guess. They all came from the same first Anglican church didn’t they?

Are you a child? The DIFFERENCE is that your church allows gay clergy, they actually ordain them knowing full well what the bible says about gay activity! The point I am making is that they are going against the scriptures! That is THE point!
Zundrah,

Take a deep breath. And listen.
  1. I started with “using your logic”. You accuse ALL Anglican clergy of being homosexual. My jurisdiction ACNA and most of Anglicanism does not ordain homosexuals. At least openly homosexuals. The Catholic Church and every church and denomination ordains homosexuals. Some opening and some who get under the radar, or it is know by the ordaining council and not by the laity.
  2. Trying to be cute and at the same time profound, you made a very big mistake. You made a bigoted statement lumping everyone of a certain group into a catagory without the slightest proof. When called on it, by Catholics before the Anglicans, you get defensive and dig in deeper with the accusations and try to play the I am not understood card.
Unlike other Catholics who, on this thread, said untruths about Anglicanism and apologized, you refuse. I am seeing Catholics take you to task as the Anglicans have withdrawn from this thread. I am only here as I got a message on my email of new activity here and I just had to come and see the train wreck.
  3. I would suggest you read on Anglicanism, more than just what the CoE is doing. Or the TEC. There is much to complain about with Anglicanism. And we can have adult conversations on these issues. But adult means when you make silly or unbased statements and are shown to be wrong in post after post, especially from your own side in the thread, you admit to being corrected. It allows you and the subject to move on to greater and more deeper discussion.
  4. You do not like being accused of being a pedophile. You should not. Now you understand how blanket accusations are downright silly. Just as the vast majority of Catholics loath what a minority of priest did, the vast majority of Anglicanism loath what the TEC and CoE is doing in regards to homosexuality.
  5. Zundrah, you never referenced the Anglican Church until after your first comment came under fire from Catholics and the few Anglicans who wandered in, and then left. Your choice of words may not have reflected your thinking. But your words are in your first post. Not only myself, but others understood what your words said. Hence the responses of Catholics on this thread.
  6. I notice you can not backup anything you state on this thread. Your trend of disrepect is appalling. As are a very few others on this thread.
  7. I will withdraw from this thread in the hopes that other Catholics here will be better able to get you and a very few others here to understand and behave.

I’d like to know what claims I made that I can’t support, unless of course you are not actually looking for an answer?

Any how, you are far too angry about this. If you are leaving the thread because of me then perhaps you should think again. If there are things you would like to discuss here without communicating to me then just say so, and I will leave you be.

Paulin,

I am from Alabama. Born and raised. I live in a part of Florida that identifies more with Alabama and Georgia than the rest of Florida. Mainy because this part of the state is only remembered when it is time for some election.

I am sorry you sense of humor is impaired. Most Floridians I know have a great sense of humor and laugh when I tell them I am exiled. Or poke fun at me being from Alabama, then we all make fun of those other states. Or I will ask them since they are from Florida, what part of yankeedom did your parents come from? Floridians in my part call the Gulf Coast the Redneck Rivieria and have “redneck” parades. According to them, due to the influence of Alabamians moving south so they did not have to marry their sisters.

Listening process…, no thanks. We Anglicans have learned from the TEC and liberals what happens in a listening process (Inhaba).

Oh, and your question as to how Anglicans view the Church. Put 10 Anglicans in a room and you will get 12 answers. For some it is the individual parish, other the Bishop/Diocese, others Jurisdictions, other One Holy and Apostolic. Oh and they can all be in the same parish at the same Mass.

Zundrah,

I tried to leave, made my last post and “pop” here you are again.

Angry, no. Sad is a better word. Sad you are unable to read your own words and
understand how Catholics and Anglicans would be put out by them.

You said, again a reference to your first post in this thread. Please re-read it again. I will paste it from your first post to help.

A - They probably do have popes. Two, most likely. Since every Anglican clergyman/ woman seems to need to have a gay partner these days!

The words in red are yours, all of yours from your first post. It has nothing to do with what the OP wanted. It is a childish attack on Anglicanism. I guess you were trying to be funny.

Ok, please give me the evidence or support from Academic or Scientific sources to support this/your statement that all Anglican clergy seem to have a gay partner.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised by your response. Either giving such evidence or apologizing for the error. Honestly, I don’t think you will be able to do either. I’ll pop in from time to time to check on your progress.

I didn’t answer you that quickly!

Aw, I don’t know about that, you seem pretty mad to me.
Sad you are unable to read your own words and

Okay, I’ll answer that by the following responses, hopefully.

Mark, that as you well know was not a “claim” or a statement, it was a comical response in regards to what is always on the news. The only thing on the news that is from the AC, gay clergy; in the anglican church. Something that has been going on for a long long time now. When the world seems to be getting worse, and you know that it is beyond change, you start to just joke about it.
The words in red are yours, all of yours from your first post. It has nothing to do with what the OP wanted. It is a childish attack on Anglicanism. .
It was indeed childish, I am fully aware of that. It was suppose to be childish, and not taken seriously.
I guess you were trying to be funny
Yeah, were you laughing? :p;)

Hmm… something tells me that you will not be surprised.
Either giving such evidence or apologizing for the error.
Evidence =

Apology =

…see? You got neither.
Honestly, I don’t think you will be able to do either.

this is unworthy of a serious Catholic. Let Pope Benedict set the tone for courtesy.

Oh, I was using the exiled statement for a little parody of what is happening in TEC. You know, big tent, listening process. I guess I sort of missed the mark. So, I am humor impaired as far as Anglican parody is concerned.

It is far from unfair to say that the majority of Anglicanism is gay! Aren’t the bishops gay? Isn’t there gay arch bishops!? Listen, if the bad apple is in the bowl…
Are you really that naive?? You can’t be that unintelligent can you? I think that you are just propagating trouble just for kicks here. You are just a clown and this thread is a complete farse.
