Opponents of Elena Kagan’s Supreme Court Bid Find Silver Lining

Washington, DC – From the outset of President Barack Obama’s nomination of pro-abortion activist Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court, her confirmation was virtually guaranteed. Today, the day after the Senate approved the nomination, Curt Levy of the Committee for Justice tries to find the silver lining.

Thanks.

My own silver lining is that since we all knew POTUS would nominate a pro-abort, Kagan seems to be a little better than Justice Stevens, whom she is replacing. 🙂

Why are all the pro-life news sites so biased toward favoring Republicans?

Why are all the pro-life news sites so biased toward favoring Republicans?
It’s only because the Democratic Party has become so strongly identified with the pro-abortion position that it’s hard to find any pro-life news favorable to Dems.

It might have something to do with the fact that the Democrats have abortion on demand as a platform plank or that the so-called Democrats for Life virtually all caved the last time they had a chance to cast a pro-Life vote. But that’s just a guess. 😉

If pro-life is narrowly defined as being anti-abortion or pro-death as being only pro-abortion than more republicans than democrats are pro-life. Once this narrow definition is expanded to cover post birth issues of health and well being of children it becomes more of a toss up, at least in the minds of many Catholics who vote for democratic candidates. It becomes difficult then to justify voting for the party of NO. It would seem that neither party has made great strides in overturning Roe vs Wade.

How could they be biased towards the Democrat party which has enshrined the right to unrestricted taxpayer funded abortions on demand in their party platform? The Democrat party has made it clear they oppose everything the pro-life organizations stand for

The healthcare vote put to rest the myth of the pro-life Democrat Congressman

Nonsense There is no disagreement on the need to take care of people after they are born. There is disagreement on the best way to do this. All rights flow from the right to life-the idea that one can overcome the Democrat party support of unrestricted taxpayer-funded abortion on demand because one thinks they’re better on welfare issues is absolutely specious,

Many Catholics cannot in good conscience, support the “personal responsibility, pro-big-business” party.

I dont know of such a party. But if they wrongly bekleive this is what the republican party stands for do they refrain from voting? Or do they support the party of death? Social programs mean nothing to those you are denied the right to life

I’m hard put to find any silver lining whatever. Other than perhaps, that the Church often grows stronger under persecution.

Yes republican party is big on personal responsibility, but the Democrats have shown that they are the big business party. So that myth has been busted by the Democrats actions since they took completely over.

Specious or not, it was absolutely obvious in the last election that the majority of self nominated Catholics think otherwise and I don’t think that is going to change. The party of NO may not agree as to how to accomplish supporting those in need, but I have yet to see them produce a plan of their own that might work. Help us here. 🙂

No Child left behind.

Increase Earnedincome credit

Increase in the child credit

Tax cuts for working Americans

Overall increase in all social spending.

Institution of a ban on partial-birth abortions

Appointment of two pro-life judges to the United States bring court

They would have been a law banning the taking of minors across state linesfor an abortion for the purpose of avoiding parental consent laws but the Democrat party blocked. They also blocked a national parental consent law.

On his third day in office Obama released US funds to fund overseas abortions and forced sterilizations and he has the most pro-abortion administration in history. he just spent $35 million assuring Kenyan women have the right to kill their children enshrined In their new constitution. the difference between the two parties on this is so stark I cannot believe anybody doesn’t see it.

You think No Child Left Behind was a GOOD thing?

Ask a teacher.
In my opinion it was another useless feel-good social program-just the kind of things Democrats love and point out as justifying their vote for pro-abortion politicians. You may recall that was done in conjunction with Ted Kennedy
