There’s one coming up in November at the local Opus Dei Retreat House. Can someone tell me what one does during this day?

Thanks!

There is an Evening of Recollection for ladies here in Baltimore and this is how it goes:

7:00 pm The ladies gather informally in the chapel and say the Rosary

7:30 pm The priest gives a 30-minute meditation

8:00 pm The priest goes to the confessional to hear confessions and one of the ladies in charge gives a talk on a practical matter of the spiritual life in another room

8:50 pm The priest gives another 30-minute meditation

9:20 pm Benediction

My husband goes to a Day of Recollection occasionally, and he tells me it starts with a meditation, they break for confessions and the talk, then there’s Mass with a deep homily, and that’s it.

Sometimes the participants try to keep silence, as if it were a day of retreat. In other places, it’s more social.

It’s definitely worth doing, and be especially sure to go to Confession. Those priests are amazing.

Where is it, Arnold Hall?

Yes, Arnold Hall! They also have one the next day, i.e. a day-time one. It sounds fabulous. I will definitely sign up.

Thank you.

Let us know how you like it. They are generally held every month, so you can plan to go regularly. When retreats are offered, go for that, too.

Take a bit of cash with you - there are sometimes books offered for sale, and they are really worth having.
