  1. No I don’t trust them, they’re immature children who are proven scientifically to be impulse driven
Immature, impulse driven children are probably not going to say let me make a whole lot of sacrifices and devote my life to God. Would you say that St.Therese made a bad choice?
  1. No I don’t trust God in the sense that I don’t believe trust in Him can prevent disaster from occuring in my life.

It’s not likely to be an issue, as Opus Dei has very very few numerary vocations in the US. That’s why they don’t have centers in many major metro areas. Also, we shouldn’t refer to numerary as a vocation. A numerary is an unmarried lay person, that is their vocation. The fact that they choose to join an organization doesn’t alter their vocation in any way. Their canonical status does not change in any way. The “vocation” to be a numerary is not much different than a “vocation” to join the Knights of Columbus.
It’s a little different but you make good points. They’re basically choosing a group that will help foster their vocation.

Can someone post or PM me an example of what a day for an average Opus Dei member is like? Sounds like a good penance for Lent.

If you know of somebody who can out do God in preventing disasters, pray, can you recommend him to us please?😛

Looks like Red Meg needs the help of a brother in the Work!!

I am a supernumerary of Opus Dei and am only too willing to deal with questions people wish to ask me. I will answer honestly and truthfully as to my own personal experiences. Promise!! 🙂

I am disturbed at a lot of what I read here and am in agreement with the rest. Also please feel free to PM me if you wish.

God Bless

Here’s a link to the current Heart and Soul series on the BBC world service dealing with Opus Dei - this is the first programme in a series on the organisation.
