Is it worth the buy? Ratings looked good.

The Spiritual Combat is free online. See around pages 34-36 for the four attacks during the hour of death.

A lot of times spiritual combat refers to our fighting against our own sinful tendencies and spiritual warfare refers to fighting against the efforts of demons against us.

I would say that Scupoli and Thigpen were using the terms in these ways.

That’s a different book from what the OP is talking about. The OP is asking about Paul Thigpen’s “Manual of Spiritual Warfare.” “The Spiritual Combat” is by Dom Lorenzo Scuppoli.

I thought it was a good book. It’s hard to say whether or not someone else would think that it’s worth the money. But if it looks interesting to you, then you’ll probably like it. It’s less than $20 though, and the book itself has a nice imitation leather cover. It’s small, about 5x7, so it’s easy to carry around. It has an attractive appearance inside and out.

About a third of the book contains prayers. Another third is about scripture and saints, related to spiritual warfare. The first third of the book is more of what would be Thigpen’s writing about knowing your enemy (satan), and what the Church teaches about it.
