Sorry if this doesn’t belong here…I’m curious to know has anyone ordered anything from this website? Did it help you out?

I’m interested in “The Experience of being Called” by Br. Gerlac O’Loughlin OCSO but the price of the book is a bit expensive (well for me anyways)

Thank you and God bless,

It does seem a bit expensive.

The book that truely helped me in my discernment was Peter on the Shore.

It seems a bit more affordable as well as having the option to by used copies.

Unfortunatly my copy is packed away in DC or I would send it to you.

Pricy little number.

The lowest price I found was $24.00 --used, very good–plus $4.00 shipping thru amazon.

God bless you all for your answers. The book “Peter on the Shore” by Fr. Anthony Bannon looks like a great read also.

What other books (besides the Holy Bible) have been helpful for you while discerning?

I know and realize this is an old thread so I apologize for bringing this up again.

** I’m not trying to promote Natalie Smith or the Vocationsplacement.org website.

I wanted to let you that I did in fact “order” the book called “The Experience of being Called” by Br. Gerlac O’Loughlin, OCSO

Natalie Smith who is the founder and president of vocationsplacement.org informed me (at the time via email) that I could make any donation that I was able to afford. I also mentioned that I was really interested in the “Jesus calls women” DVD and she sent this DVD to me at no charge.

Unfortunately, I can’t for the life of me “get into” this book. I thought this book would discuss Our Lord, Our Lady, Saints, the faith of the Catholic church, or something to that effect perhaps I haven’t read that far but so far this book is very confusing and difficult to read.

So, my next questions are has anyone on CAF read “The Experience of being Called” by Br. Gerlac O’Loughlin, OCSO? What your opinions and thoughts?

Although, the book is rather confusing I really enjoyed the DVD.

In case you’re wondering how to order here is the website:
