A friend of mine insisted that I should attend a Mass celebrated by FSSP priest from overseas (no FSSP here). I told him that there’s a parish which celebrate Latin Mass also once a month here.
However, he explained that the local latin mass is ordinary form whereas this mass is Holy Mass in the Extraordinary form which goes back to hundred of years. He further explained “it is the Tridentine rite mass which began in the early centuries of the church and which was codified in 1570 and has been unchanged since then.when the saints talk about mass, they refer to this rite.”
My question is how many form of Latin Mass do we have? and is there any difference? Well, I’ve never attended any Latin Mass before, so I don’t know anything about it. Thanks.
