In the ordo that I have it says today (13th of August) is a ferial day, but then underneath it says commemoration of SS. Hippolytus and Cassian at Low Masses. So does this mean that every low Mass today will be a commemoration of SS. Hippolytus and Cassian, and a High Mass would be of the ferial day? Or does this mean the Priest has the option to celebrate the Mass of SS. Hippolytus and Cassian of keep the feria? Sort of like an optional commemoration in the new calendar?
And if the Priest chooses to keep the feria can he only use the Mass of this past Sunday (XII after Pentecost) or can he use any Mass of the season, for example the Mass of the XVII Sunday after Pentecost?\
Many thanks.
