Hello! I was wondering what the official policy is on organ repertoire in the Greek Orthodox Church. More specifically, are works that originally come from secular repertoire such as operas (i.e. Bridal Chorus by Wagner), permitted for use? I know they are not permitted in most Catholic parishes where I’ve worked, but wasn’t sure with the Greek Orthodox faith. And are works from repertoire of other Christian faiths allowed, like “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, “Ode to Joy”, etc. ? Thanks so much in advance.
