Can anyone recommend a good book (in English) that describes in some detail the history of any or all of the following traditions: Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara, Chaldean, Syriac, I’d also be interested in learning about the Assyrian Church of the East. If you could link me to the book on amazon.com I would greatly appreciate it, since I could then add the book to my wish list.

There’s an old book THE LESSER EASTERN CHURCHES, which could be available on line, but the author writes from the (for the time) typical Latin triumphalist stand point.

The Copts have written extensively in English about their experience and patrimony from their own viewpoint. They have several sites.

You could also try this archived site for the Assyrian Church of the East.

I pray we will all be back in full Eucharistic Communion in my life time. It doesn’t matter to me if each church keeps her own administrative autonomy.

Thank you for your recommendations.

Ironically, I had just visited the CNEWA site for the first time earlier tonight.
