Can you tell me about a really comprehensive, in-depth study of the Catholic (loss of preternatural gifts) and Protestant (total depravity) understandings of original sin? Something that goes into to the history and theology of each and is based upon Scripture, Tradition, reason, and the Magisterium.

Preferably a good book.
