Orthodox and Anglican forum members are invited to Compare & Contrast Orthodox and Anglican views regarding the Primacy of Peter/Keys/Rock/Authority.
Matthew 16 (ESV): 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
The inspiration for this thread is a book entitled, “The Primacy of Peter, Essays in Ecclesiology and the Early Church,” John Meyendorff, Editor. This is a fascinating book written from the Orthodox viewpoint; and is my introduction to the Orthodox view of the subject.
I know there are a number of us, in the Anglican Communion, who are considering the Orthodox faith (along with Catholicism-though Catholicism is not the topic of this thread.)
I welcome comments from Orthodox forum members, and those in the Anglican Communion, to compare & contrast views of the Primacy of Peter/Keys/Rock/Authority, etc.
Thanks to All,
Anna
