For some things------yes. But sadly there are many real differences.

No doubt, but I have yet to truly wrap my mind around them - perhaps due to the differences in how the issues are approached by the west and the east.

Here are the major differences–with papal infallibility probably at the top of the list:

Papal infalibility/supremacy
Immaculate conception/original sin
purgatory
Filioque

Personally, being somewhat of a traditionalist, I also had big problems with the novus ordo and gender-neutral langauge when I was in the RCC.

I would definitely say that issues with the last three stem from issues with the first one. Although, issues with the Filioque predate it (I think). I am vaguely knowledgeable about the history of the Filoque issue, but I don’t know if it was dogmatized by an individual Pope or in a council…
