This guy who is an Orthodox Christian just started talking about his faith, and how he studied all religions and different forms of Christianity to find the truth. I tried not dodging this whole topic, because I know I won’t agree with him, since he starts saying that mine (Catholic) and his religion are not in communion with one another. I tell him I don’t want to discuss this or have arguments about it, because everyone has their own beliefs. And, I also said that it’s called faith, and no one can prove anything. Than, he said “um yes u can”…He also said Muslim faith was Christian first, and that they were part of a heresy that stemed from the monophosites, and the roman catholic church destroyed the trinity. I just ignored him and that was the end of it. I don’t know about this history, what do you all know about this? I am curious to know.

It is true: the Orthodox are not in communion with the Catholic Church, although they have valid Holy Orders and sacraments.

Other than that, he’s talking nonsense. Pray for him. I will.

I am an Antiochian Orthodox Christian and I have never heard of any of that non-sense.
I wonder if his bishop knows his ideas or if he has mentioned them in confession.

I don’t think he has, and the stuff he is saying is very HETEROdox .
