My friend who is only 14 years old was ordained a deacon in the Coptic Orthodox Church a few years back. I was wandering I were for example to be ordained a deacon in the Coptic Orthodox Church would I be excommunicated?

Are you presently a member of the Syriac Maronite Church of Antioch? This Eastern Church is in full communion with Rome. The spelling of your specified religion in your profile is unclear to me.

If you are a member of ANY Catholic Church which is in communion with Rome, then you cannot accept Orders from any Catholic Church (such as the Coptic Orthodox Church) which is NOT in full communion with Rome. To do so incurs excommunication.

If you are not a member of any Church that is in full communion with Rome then you cannot be excommunicated (because you were never in communion to begin with).
