I’m not surprised in the least. To Jews as well, our faith is profane.Orthodox Jews burnt hundreds of bibles in Israel two years ago

"It seems burning of religious texts is not something only confined to crazy fringe Christian leaders wanting to burn Quran’s on Spet 11.
In 2008 Orthodox Jews set fire to hundreds of copies of the New Testament in an act of violence against Christian missionaries in the Holy Land."
In the Jewish State of Israel it is a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment to burn the Christian scriptures or the Koran. The singular incident of the thread , which occurred in 2008, was a spontaneous local neighborhood reaction by extremely religious Jews to intense Christian missionary (Jews for Jesus) activity in their neighborhood. The missionaries distributed hundreds of copies of the Christian scriptures together with missionary material throughout the neighborhood. The local religious population gathered up the material and burned it. Now I suppose they could have just thrown it out, but I have no doubt they also had a message to send, given the last two thousand years of history, about people trying to convince them to stop being Jews.I’m not surprised in the least. To Jews as well, our faith is profane.
There are certain multiculturalists out there who believe that it’s a fruitful intellectual exercise to compare the three great monotheistic religions.
I think it’s a waste of time because there are more contrasts than comparisons.
Our histories are such that each has gone his or her own way.
There seems to be quite a lot of wormwood between them as they exist now.
And only God can seal these breaches.
well yes you can,but you wont make itNo I can’t.
The issue of what is holy and profane is central in monotheism. Now I suppose they could have just thrown it out, but I have no doubt they also had a message to send, given the last two thousand years of history, about people trying to convince them to stop being Jews.
there is a muslim family in Israel, they used to be orthodox jews,so much that they moved from USA to Israel, and there they met some muslims and learned more about islam,so they found truth(so to say). The guy talkes a lot about jewish religion that is so hateful against nonjews…its really true,i didnt believe the word “gentile” is still used…There is an additional aspect to consider when dealing with Jewish orthodox families. Christians often justify trying to make Jews break their eternal covenant with God and to adopt their beliefs, on the basis of their dogma that only people holding their beliefs may get into the world to come. Seemingly, not only should the Jews not object to these attempts at conversion, they should be grateful that an attempt is made to save the Jews from themselves. The Jew on the hand, believes that the Gentile not only is not barred from the world to come, but that it is easier for the Gentile than for the Jew to get into the world to come, as they have only to follow the seven Noahide commandments. However, this is only true concerning Gentiles not Jews. Under Judaism, if a Jew abandons Judaism and adopts Gentile beliefs, than that Jew is cut off forever both from God and the Jewish people. Orthodox Jewish parents seeing their children exposed to missionary activity are sincerely and seriously concerned for their children’s welfare.
thank you chosen. i really could have used your (name removed by moderator)ut on some other threads dealing with gentile sabbath keepers, who think the gentiles are obliged to keep the Jewish law, instead of the noahdic law. and for some weird reason believe that God has abandoned his Chosen people the Jews. when our own New testament says otherwise. Peace Grace and many blessings to you and yours. There is an additional aspect to consider when dealing with Jewish orthodox families. Apparently, it’s OK for Jews to burn hundreds of copies of the Holy Bible, but I wonder the tremendous amount of public outcry if even 1 copy of the extremely blasphemous Jewish Talmud were to be burned.
wow! i am really offended being called a gentile!there is a muslim family in Israel, they used to be orthodox jews,so much that they moved from USA to Israel, and there they met some muslims and learned more about islam,so they found truth(so to say). The guy talkes a lot about jewish religion that is so hateful against nonjews…its really true,i didnt believe the word “gentile” is still used…![]()
