Though the two Churches remain a canyon apart in many areas, this meeting will be a real step in the right direction toward reconciliation. And perhaps Bartholomew could work as a middle man in settling the many differences between Rome and the Moscow Patriarchate as well as in Ukraine, I can think of no one better suited for such a task.
