Is OrthodoxWiki a good place to browse and read and learn more about Eastern Catholic faith? Is it compatible (for the most part)?

Given that one of their articles is “problems with Uniatism” or something like that, I’d say no, but it’s a wiki, after all.

Even the pope acknowledges there is a problem with Uniatism!

I looked but didn’t find any such article. Maybe you were thinking of another site. The article there on “Eastern Catholic Churches”, while not entirely accurate, is notably irenic.

When a search brings up the option of orthodoxwik on a subject I tend to go to there before wikipedia, although there is usefull stuff on wikipedia about ECCs. I wouldn’t use it to search for info about the Catholic Church per se, Eastern or Latin, unless I’m looking specifically for an Orthodox perspective on the Catholic Church. 🙂

It’s pretty fair over all. It’s written by and for the Orthodox, but it’s saying the same things I’ve heard from my Pastors.

Thanks! I’ve been dying for a good source of information thats free 😃

Since the Melkite Faith is mostly Orthodox but in Communion with Rome, I don’t see why not. At least for some quick information.👍

I’m not Eastern, so I hope you don’t mind my comments.

I agree with everyone here that it is a good source to find out obout the Byzantine/.Eastern Orthodox Tradition. But I’ve found that it is biased against the Latin Tradition and those things within the Oriental Tradition that are held in common with the Latins.

It gives the impression that the Eastern Tradition is the only valid apostolic Tradition, which I daresay is not true. Granted, I think the website is purposefully opposed to ecumenism.

Blessings,
Marduk

Yes indeed - a good point. Roman Catholic and Orthodox historiography on Eastern Catholicism appears to agree as well.
