Some simple questions about Orthodoxy:

Does Orthodox hold to Ex Ecclesia Nulla Sallus?

Do they believe that Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists etc can be saved?

Since different Orthodox churches dont agree on the canon and there are some big rivalries (eg. Greek vs Russian), do they see eachother as Heaven-bound?

Do Orthodox believe Catholics and Heretics (ie, Evangelicals) can go to Heaven? I know that they tagged them as Hell-bound back in the olden days, but what is the Orthodox’s view on Western Christians today?

Do Orthodox have the “invincible ignorance” concept?

Thanks

Just a note, it is politically incorrect to consider Evangelicals, or any Protestants, heretics, because most were born into that faith, they weren’t Catholics rejecting doctrine and leaving the church, they were never Catholic. Now, a Catholic who leaves would be considered a heretic, but not those who were born into such a faith. And especially in comparison to the Orthodox, because the Protestant Reformation was a split from Catholicism and not Orthodoxy, even if many of the Protestant beliefs would be considered heretical.

I’m Catholic, but this is pretty much what the orthodox believe. They believe they have the “right teaching” handed down from the apostles, virtually unchanged.

Unlike a lot of other churches, they don’t spend a lot of time worrying about other churches. So, they don’t have a teaching on catholics, evangelicals, etc. They don’t pass judgment on whether God in his mercy will allow them to enter heaven. Of course they think it’s not imposible, nothing is to God.

Overall, I find orthodox teaching to be the LEAST encumbered with the unnecessary.
