If any Church can be looked to for the true faith, then again, why did the Church in Constantinople go to Clement in Rome and not to John, or a closer Church like Ephesus?

I do believe that the Bishop of Rome did have a Primacy and therefore was a great symbol for Christian Unity, however when they stray from the faith they should not be followed. I can see that the Bishop of Rome did have a Primacy, was the leader of the Church, and had the last word, however things such as Infallibility, and the ability to change the faith at random, without others consent has hurt the Primacy. The Filioque is kind of the biggest thing because even according to Vatican I, it shouldn’t have been added. Thats what I say, who knows I’m just learning about Christianity.

i just say this. if the leadership of the pope and the Church was based only on perfection and not because God stablished it, we have to admit we have a big problem. because who can say we are perfect and will never err. if God took the leadership of hte Church in Rome because the pope said or allowed something that to us seem wrong to enter the Church, who do you think would be the perfect one to take that leadership? since we are all still humans including popes, patriarchs and bishops all are subjects to sin and make mistakes.

dont you think Jesus knew that people would make mistakes and would sin?

But if Jesus stablished a leadership in His Church, it is only logic and sensible to understand that He would make provision for the church to heal and bring it back to rightousness according ot His will.

Otherwise leadership would be changing all the time. for who is to say they are perfect and free from err always.?

Which Church can say She is perfect always in which everyone can claim ot be saints at all times? no one.

Therefore, it ridiculous to assume that bacause the Church in Rome did fail in some things in 2000 years we no longer accept her in the position of leadership.

Atempts have been made throught out the ages to destroy this Church, yet she still here although many even deny her existence. like protestants that believes after martin luther left the CC she ceased to exist. like the CC was made by martin luther.

even after the sex scandles this Church still being admired by the world not because she has human power but bcause of what our Lord said adn the world wanting or not still fears God. when many so called christians apparently do not.

remember Jesus said that God could make children to Abraham out of stones. even when christians deny her divine authority, the world does not.

What did Vatican I have to say about this? Or what are you implying it said about this? I have never heard of anything in Vatican I like this, so I’m kinda suprised.
