i feel the same. i will never forget the scene in mystic river when he reacts to the death of his daughter. i thought it was over done.
i think he is overrated as an actor. he is a good actor, but not great.

Really? I thought he got it perfect. His daughter was very important to him, he was already worked up before he got the news, he thought there was a chance she might not be dead, he finds out she is, he sees an old friend there at the scene who dosen’t bring up the best memories, and he tells her she’s dead. His reaction, It was perfect.

yes, i understand how a father would feel to find out his daughter was murdered, but i thought he took it too far.

was the movie Valkryie able to make it to the oscars or will that be next year? i thought that was a good movie and i would like to see tom cruise be recognized for his role in that one.

Valkyrie didn’t get any nominations, no. Cruise was good in it, but not oscar worthy IMO.

okay, thanks for the info. i didn’t know if it qualified for 2009 or not. regarding sean penn, i have seen many of his movies and everyone has their own opinion about celebrities. he does pick interesting roles. i do want to see Milk someday and i did like the movie Colors. i just didn’t care for his character in mystic river.
