MarHaba ya Sam–I wouldn’t expect to read intellectually astounding essays on YouTube, because most of those who comment there use mockery and insults, whether or not they are Muslim. 😦 And in my experience, at least eighty percent of the time, Islamic apologetics is about as strong as a feather in a hurricane.
I wouldn’t say that Islamic apologetics is ineffective but that often Muslims simply don’t know a great deal surrounding Christianity and its comparison with Islam. So they often struggle to understand Christian viewpoints and how their own teachings can be used in discussion/debate and refutation.

Actually, that does often seem to be a big problem. Which is why I can find it refreshing to see Muslims being able to defend their beliefs with some effectiveness (even though I pray a lot for them to find Christ).

The internet, better Islamic education and strong inter-faith dialogue has meant that Islamic dawah (that is to say, education of non-Muslims about Islam) has become better and better.

In other words, as more and more people find out about Islam they will come to realise it does not contain the whole truth of God’s revelation to mankind. It contains certain elements of the truth, but not the whole, as Christianity does.

Actually something of the opposite is happening. In the wake of 9/11 and with the internet, books and information, more people are converting to Islam than ever, particularly women.

REAL Islam is a deeply beautiful religion, full of great truth.

This phenomenon is indeed something of a small trend.
REAL Islam
What is this exactly? 🙂
is a deeply beautiful religion, full of great truth.
As well as great flaws, which are inherent to the faith and impossible to minimize. (The title will seem unnecessarily inflammatory, but the text makes clear, without being a polemical hatchet job, what the author means.)

http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon13.gif That claim is false!!! and based on no evidence!!!, where is the beauty when Muslims are killing each others and other religions followers in the name of Allah!

Where is the truth when Islam denies JESUS crucifixion and resurrection!!!

Manal Al-Sharif is a Muslim who showed the world how Islam is a beautiful religion in her youtube video ;).

However, the problem is the person who keep switching religions as shown here!

**Real **Islam?

Maybe, the mish mash of Judaism beliefs and Christian beliefs, and Gnosticism minus the tone that goes anti- Judaism and anti-Christian:shrug: 😃

Well its time for them to come out of the darkness and into the light.

Kouyated,
You have allowed yourself to be seduced by the face of Islam that Muslims like to place before gullible Westeners.
If the history of the spread of Islam is examined, it will be difficult to find an example of it not being spread by the sword.
A study the history of Islam shows it has been a history of conflict from its very beginning. The two main denominations of Islam are Sunni and Shiah. Over the years Sunni-Shiah relations have been marked by both cooperation and conflict, but since the 16th century conflict has been unending.
This strain of violence has been used to spread Islam. People in the West talk about radical Islam as if it is another religion separate from the rest of Islam. It is not. It is an integral part of Islam. It is just that these so called radical Muslims are behaving in the way Muslims have always behaved down the centuries. These radical extremist do not have the patience of their brother Muslims.

The Quran’s commandments to Muslims to wage war in the name of Allah against non-Muslims are unmistakable. They are, furthermore, absolutely authoritative as they were revealed late in the Prophet’s career and so cancel and replace earlier instructions to act peaceably. Without knowledge of the principle of abrogation, Westerners will continue to misread the Quran and misdiagnose Islam as a “religion of peace.”

This is exactly how I see it too. I wish they saw it in the same light. Maybe they’d finally realize the truth.

What oldbrit2009 says is completely wrong.
I know that you are sick of writing it, as you said in the old thread, but if you’re going to say they’re wrong, you should probably provide some evidence to back up your claim.

Can’t respond in full right now as I’m posting from my Kindle which makes it difficult to type out long answers. But I will promise you that I will respond in full when I can.

But I will say this. There are many Islamic countries such as Malaysia which accepted Islam freely and happily and without the threat of any sort of violence.

AlsoI will also ask this politely and without meaning any offense to anyone.: what good will even a thesis of the highest quality do if I gave it? I have in the past given reasonable answers to posts and question, and yet the questioners and people still insist on recycling the same old propaganda points and reciting the same anti-Islamic rhetoric. Fair enough there have been times when I have failed to respond to questions and I can only ask for forgiveness in that respect.

Quite understandable.

I would be interested to hear a longer response on your part. You aren’t the only one to find the most common contra-Islamic memes tiresome… and in my signature I link to a Coptic hymn, not just for its spiritual and aesthetic value but also out of solidarity with Egypt’s struggling Christians.

Many and I say many times you’ve posted the same answer. Which is:

And you hardly ever come back to reply.

Unfortunately I do have a lot of commitments right now, especially as I both study, volunteer for various things and also privately tutor. I can’t always be on here to type out long essays on Islam. Partially as I always feel I am often wasting my time in doing so I often do not respond where I feel there is a combatative tone to the thread or where I think people are merely trying to start arguments for the sake of it.

Quite understandable.

There was a time when I would have considered starting a thread to try and battle some of the misconceptions but when it comes to Islam, too many people here become argumentative. rude and quite frankly uncharitable. Even the most innocent of threads turns into an argument.
