Ossuary Forgery

In the “for what it is worth” category, the ossuary that was discovered a couple of years ago with the inscription “James, brother of Jesus” has been certified a forgery. The authorities in Israel investigating several antiquities have declared that the words “brother of Jesus” were added in the present day. The ossuary is of historical value only because of the period. It appears that there is a lot of forged antiquities from the New Testament era.

And the fact that it was a forgery didn’t get nearly the “play” that the original “discovery” did
