OT-In fulfillment of the Promised Land, God tolerated the mass slaughter of nations

I listened from Jeff Cavins “Adventure through the Bible” - Salvation history of God’s tolorence fro the Israelites to slaughter the wicked nations (men, women and children) - in order to possess the LAND promised to Abraham.

I heard that this is called the “**Harem warefare” (The Bankd)??? **- the slaughter of the wicked nations. I cannot find any information via the web concerning the :Harem warefare"???

Can anyone help?
