Ok, here’s a circular form of questioning brought up by an atheist I know, how can I answer him?–
His statement was, “What did Jesus do to the law?”
My answer, “Jesus fulfilled the Law, the Old Covenant”
Him: If he fulfilled the law, why do you still have the 10 commandments and not the other Jewish laws and customs like stoning people from the OT, sabbath day laws, etc- all “abolished” by Jesus in the NT?
Me: Because the other laws were Jewish tradition that were added to the law and not originally a part of it.
Him: Then how is Catholic Tradition any different by adding laws and traditions to the 10 commandments?
