Gregorian chant. Classical music most of which was written for religous services.

Heavy metal is great… as long as it’s not too satanic, and also I don’t like anything heavier than melodeath (such as black metal, grind, and brutal death metal)

But yea, I like prog, power, doom, and melodic death metal. Nice sub-genre names aren’t they? (-:

More of a Classic Rock guy than a Rock and Roll guy. Like the Dobbies and ZZTop and Bon Jovi, ect. good stuff like that.
ZZ Top is excellent! ‘Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers’ is just crazy, not to mention ‘La Grange’ - makes awesome backing music to the ‘Getaway’ pinball machine (-:

I had to say “other” since I like more than one type of music. My favorites are:

  1. *]Classical
    *]Country
    *]Southern Rock (the CCR type)

It is curious that their are Catholics here whom i am assuming profess their faith and at the same time, who listen to such bands as metallica and rock. I wish Catholics not be so much of this world. How can Catholics reconcile listening to such bands which convey major moral problems, and still call themselves Catholics. Why do Catholics feel because they are “only human” they have an excuse to listen to that music which has death sewn into the lyrics and music. I was once told, that you should only be listening to music that you could in good conscience listen to right in front of Jesus or Mary. That people will say, rules out most music, and should you be suprised. THERE IS NO EXCUSE!!! do not be ignorant.

I myself like classical, ethnic, and smooth jazz instrumental. and of course Chant

ps. Garbage in Garbage out!!!

Sean, there are other threads for discussing that idea… have a look, maybe on the next page, for a thread called ‘is it wrong to listen to some kinds of music’.

My favorite music is Spanish/Latin pop. Alejandro Sanz is my favorite artist. To me, lyrics in Spanish are so much more poetic. His love ballads are my favorite. If you enjoy Spanish music and have never heard of him, I suggest you purchase his CD entitled Más to try him out.

Bill Haley and the Comets are awesome, I was just listening to them! 😃 I’m more into that type of music, and rockabilly & psychobilly (Horrorpops, Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Rev. Horton Heat) and 70’s/early 80’s punk (GG Allin, TSOL, Sham69).
The only goth-rock band I like is H.I.M., they’re really the only band I like who’s songs are mostly about love. He has an amazing voice, much like Maynard from Tool.
The only techno-pop I listen to is DJ Sammy.

I grew up on some classic rock (mostly the Eagles and Journey, thanks mom) and classic country (Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Ricky Van Shelton, etc), and Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby… so I’ll always love that stuff. Earlier this year I started getting into symphony/orchestra, and Tom Waits. :B
I dunno, my taste in music is kinda diverse.
I’ve been meaning to listen to some Jrock and Jpop bands
but a lot of them have annoying voices (except Utada Hikaru).
I listed some bands in case some people here are open-minded, haha
unless you feel like looking at my Homepage. 😛

Sean.McKenzie: “do not be ignorant.” – you’re one to talk.

Well the only music I listen to is Christian like Jars of Clay, Matt Maher, Chris Tomlin, Telecast, Ben Walther, and other awesomely awesome Christian artists.
