Other than the rosary, anyone on this board uses a different chaplet/rosary for devotions? Have you had any experiences or even seen other chaplets? Did you even know about them?

Some expamples;

Chaplet of St Joseph*
Chaplet of St Jude**
Chaplet of the Sacred Heart
Chaplet of Divine Mercy
Chaplet for the dead
Chaplet of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
Chaplet of Saint Anne
Chaplet of St Michael (Archangel)
Chaplet of San Padre Pio
Chaplet of Saint Rita
Chaplet of the five wounds
Chaplet of the Holy Ghost
Chaplet of the Precious Blood
Chaplet of the Queen of Light

*: this is the one I use regularely

I have never heard of the majority of these. Can you post the format for each?
It’s a bother, I know, but I would appreciate it if you did.

P.S. Can these be prayed on ordinary ten bead rosary bracelets?

I say Divine Mercy regularly. Most Rosary groups in this area are now Rosary + Divine Mercy groups, though in some cases they’ll say Rosary before Mass and DM after. In other cases they just go through both of them consecutively.

I have previously said the Chaplet of the Holy Face when Fr. Heilman and Cardinal Burke were promoting that devotion. Also the Chaplet of St. Michael when Fr. Heilman was promoting that one.

I would like to start saying the Chaplet of the 7 Sorrows and the Chaplet of the Precious Blood (the St. Gaspar del Bufalo one - there seem to be several versions) but I have not had time yet.

These all sound pretty cool! I did a quick perusal of their structure and they are so nice looking!

I thought I found something unique when I found my Anglican prayer beads, but I see Catholics have a ton of different prayer counting methods already!

The one I do regulary: The Chaplet of Saint Joseph

A prayer chaplet consisting of 14 sets of three + 1 beads. on the Cross you do the Apostles’ creed, The White bead is the purity bead, you do one Our father and a Glory Be… Then follows three Piety beeds (usually purple)… on which you do a Hail Joseph on each … There are a whole set of Joseph mysteries you can reflect on. This is my regular goto chaplet …

The Chaplet of St Jude

In desperate times, we have the Patron Saint of desperate things! A quick and easy to do chaplet when things looks desperate. 9 beeds (green) with a crucifix at the beginning and a St jude medal at the end. The Apostles’ creed on the cross, on the first three beeds you do Our Father followed with a request for help to St jude. The next three is a Glory Be followed with a request for help to St jude. The last Three is a Hail Mary with a request for help to St jude. you do the Salutation to St Jude and resquest on the St Jude medal.

When things go bad, I do this one!!

I do the rosary at least 4 times per week . Not optional for me because of the confraternity.

I do Divine Mercy any ime I think of it but usually kick myself because I never remember at 3:00.

I have always had a thing for the Holy Family. That chaplet is short and sweet. I’ll often do it right before Mass.

A couple years ago I found a funny little one decade rosary in my mom’s things. I went to use it and realized that it wouldn’t work as it only had a group of 3 then a group of 9 beads. Now I love using her St Raphael chaplet!
 
Chaplet of the Sacred Heart (there are variations of this one)

The chaplet is composed of a medal of the Sacred Heart, and thirty nine beads, six of which are large, and thirty three small. The small beads represent the thirty three years of the mortal life of our Lord. The first thirty recall to mind the years of His private life, and are divided into five groups of six; the three on the pendant recall the public life of the Savior

I used to recite the Divine Mercy chaplet all the time (and intend to pick it back up). I used to recite the St. Michael chaplet (I need to get back into that, too), but get discouraged when I can’'t memorize the prayers.
 
Not really what you asked, but the Chaplet of St. Gertrude can be said using standard Marian rosary beads. Oh, and, the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds, too.
 
I collect and make chaplets, I either have found or have made these and more 🙂

Right now I am praying the Stations of the Cross chaplet.
 
I most frequently pray the Chaplet of the Seven Dolors, but I also have a Chaplet to the Archangel Raphael.
 
oh and we didnt even mention the chotki (komboskoini) which is used by eastern catholics and orthodox… a wonderful alternative… using the Jesus prayer while breathing in and breathing out

An amazing chaplet to do is the chaplet of the Five Wounds where you meditate the five wounds (feet, hands, side) of Christ. Very deep spiritually and humbling.

Keep em comin’, Steph. Due to your thread I was finally inspired to try the Divine Mercy Chaplet today. Lovely little devotion, will be taking it up for those (unfortunately very many) days when I have no time to say a Rosary.
 
the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha chaplet is popular amongst american indians who are Catholics, but is wonderful and can be used by everyone
