palmas85: What does any of what you have bolded to do with being progressive?

What was my intent? Can you really know my actions better than I know my own based upon a few posts on the Internet?
Your intent was obvious. You wanted to trash a pre Vatican II book and devotions, and you did. No matter how you try to justify it or explain it away, thats exactly what you did. As to why, your first statement that you were not a traditionalist, almost as if that is wrong somehow set the tone for everything else you did.

The parts that I bolded showed your motivation and your intent,

Why would a traditionalist even value a non-traditionalist opinion on a pre-Vatican II office? It’s clear enough that you do not share the same preferences when you declare yourself as a non-traditionalist.

I think I have to agree with Palmas.

What an answer!

Many times, those who do not identify themselves as traditionalists often hear from those who do how “superior” everything was pre-VII. Not just the TLM, but books, devotions, etc. Oftentimes there is an attitude that comes across from the traditionalists (not everyone, but many) that if a non-trad would just give traditionalism a chance then he would “see the light” and realize how empty his Catholic life has been. (I’m being a bit sarcastic, but that is how many traditionalists come across.)

So here is a person who already prayed the Little Office. He decided to give the Baronius Press Little Office a chance. He was interested in it! But as it turns out, he didn’t like it at all.

He listed why he didn’t like it, and I thought he was pretty clear on what he didn’t like about it - repetitive, archaic language, no intercessions, *and *it came with acknowledged errors from the publisher (which probably bothered him more than the other problems, I know that I was really peeved when I received my defective copy).

He’s not trashing the Little Office in general; he’s happy with his original version and is just sharing what he didn’t like about the BP verision.

Not sure why so many are getting so snippy …
