Our conscience? - can I pick your mind

I appreciate all of your guys (name removed by moderator)ut and thoughts. I don’t really have anyone to bounce ideas off.

I think my inner conflict comes from some guilt. I have been going to the adoration chapel for years… either during my lunch or after work. I found out that a coworker goes one evening a week. This is someone who used to work right by me, but has since moved to another building so I never see them. SO I think I would like to go right before their assigned time so that our paths would cross and just say hello every once in a while. In my heart I know my change would be to see this person… and wondered if God would frown on that time change. Sound silly?

Perhaps you see God in this person, so in talking with this person, you would be praying.

Life has been hard for the last 12 years. Are you suffering? Have you considered seeing a priest our religious person for help?

I agree that we see God in some people - even if we don’t realize that completely. I have had some discussions. I think its hard to have a discussion when you are not sure what you are feeling and trying to express… but little by little we can learn little bits

For what its worth…

Do not discourage yourself from seeing a priest for the sacrament of reconciliation if something you feel guilty about is not on an official “list of sins” someplace. When we feel guilty, even though we don’t think we “should” feel guilty, it is time to go to confession!

Now, if the priest tells you “you shouldn’t feel guilty about that”, then go find another priest who will listen to you. What good is it to know that God forgives you if you cannot forgive yourself? This is why it is important to find a priest who will listen and has the time and patience to be helpful… though some do not have the time.
