Our soul is real and Jesus lives in us. So that world we create inside ourselves is the reality
of our spiritual life and world? Is that right? If that is right then wow, that’s awesome.
Not sure if I’m oversimplifying the basic, sometimes the real obvious for some hits me like a brick in the face when I finally get it.

I think you have to first define “real.”

Our imaginative head is in part, the same function we use in dreaming. No one really thinks dreams are real. See the problem?

Imagination is our explorative faculty, our laboratory. Good experiments beckon!

“…no **mind has conceived ** what God
has prepared for those who love Him”
1 Cor. 2:9
“Now unto Him who is able to do ex-
ceedingly over and above all we ask
or imagine… to Him be the glory in
the Church and in Christ Jesus both
now and forever!!” Eph. 3:20-21

So for “real” I say that’s it’s something outside ourselves. I understand what relativism is a little and don’t want to fall into that.
My imagination is mine, not something outside myself for you to share with but surly is real with God and me.
I’m struggling with my comment and am willing to work through it with you all.

I stated my soul is real, I add your soul is real, for it is outside myself and real to me. But I’m confused a bit from that now and ask, if our soul is not real what is it?

Also this question stems from this: sometimes when I pray I close my eyes and will imagine myself kneeling in front of our Lady as I am praying. So I’ll imagine a buitiful garden or Heavenly space that we are in and as I’m praying I will change or add to the scene by bringing in the mystery (i usually pray the rosary) I’m on, so If Jesus is being crowned with thorns, I’m right there seeing it. Sometimes I even bring in the whole communion of Saints to sing aloud with me and it thounderous and buitiful (my real singing voice is not that great but my inner voice has some great range). I know I’m imagining it but I feel like it’s pleasing to our Lord and thus it’s real for us. But I want it to be real for you too.

… But I want it to be real for you too.
It already is. But we each run our individual experiments! That’s why not everybody likes the stream and mountain thing, they might like something different better. People that pray all the time don’t need to be told to sit quiet, etc.

Thanks Vic, that works.

Also ran into this that helped a lot also

May the peace of Christ be with you.

Your question is the reason that Gnosticism is not true and can easily lead to insanity.

The spiritual needs the physical in order to be a reality. This is what unites us to others. This is why we will have bodies in heaven.

James 2:

14
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?i
15
If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day,
16
and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?j
17
So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

The only True reality is the Holy Spirit within you. The body (inner world) is a temple; and you must fill it with the Holy Spirit. It is only then that you will be revealed through a Spiritual reality. Everything else, besides the Holy Spirit, is error within you (its not real, its delusion). Only the Truth can exist as reality within you.

Jesus even says, you wash the outside of the cup but inwardly you are filled with hypocrisy. Hypocrite! Don’t you know that who made the inside is the same who made the outside.

Only through the Holy Spirits’ direction can we make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, making the two into one.

Yeah, that’s sweet.

Thank You
