Our Lady is not an optional accessory , God Himself needed a Mother

Dear Rob,

Thanks for posting this. I read the full text of the Pope’s Homily yesterday and found it to be a tender tribute of a son to our Mother Mary. How I pray more priests would speak of Mary! I firmly believe St. John Paul II’s words:
For its birth and growth, apostolic work looks to her who gave birth to Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Where the Mother is, there too is the Son. When one moves away from the Mother, sooner or later he ends up keeping distant from the Son as well. It is no wonder that today, in various sectors of secularised society, we note a widespread crisis of faith in God, preceded by a drop in devotion to the Virgin Mother. (from Address to Legion of Mary, October, 1982)
Yesterday, when I came to CAF there were more threads on Mary than last year – that gives me some hope. 🙂

If Mary’s sons and daughters do nothing, and say nothing, about Mary’s Place in God’s Plan for us, how will others know the fullness of God’s Truth - Jesus? How can we truly begin to appreciate the Word made Flesh without Mary?
