Why is it and how is it that Our Lady always leads her little ones to her Son? I have never known anyone who ever prayed with a sincere heart to Our Lady that did not, sooner or later, form a personal relationship with Jesus.

With all of the misconstrued theologies out there many are confused. And I believve that they become indifferent because of their confusion. However, when one places their heart (with sincerity) into the hands of Our Lady all confusion dissipates and you end up filled with the the light of Christ and the knowing that He is the “Truth.”

What are some of the reasons that make this happen?

Why did God give us such a great gift?

And what are some of the best ways for a young or new Catholic to consecrate themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

I would greatly appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut.

The Blessed Virgin’s message has always been the same as it was in John 2.
[5] His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.

i would check out this great little book called following Mary to Jesus it explains all that i havent finished it yet but ive read most of it and its been a great read

Hi,

The best Consecration that I have run into out there is the True Devotion by St. Louis De Montfort. I am reading through it, I will go and check out the other book that was suggested.

Everything that she says or does always points to Him. And who best would know Him than His Mother? I cannot think of any Mother who would not be willing to talk more of their children. I love Mary.

Sometimes we seek Her intercession. Other times, to please, honor and glorify Her Son she picks you.

My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden,
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm:
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy;
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to His posterity forever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

My personal feeling on Her are as follows. No one on Earth ever loved/knew Jesus the way She did and no other human being ever will. Anyone out there who is a mother knows this is true. Do you fellow moms agree? I’m a mom to three boys and I know, without a doubt, no one loves those boys the same way I do and no one ever will. A Mother’s love is the purest, truest love there is. What other example should we follow? Even the apostles couldn’t possibly have loved Jesus more than Our Lady.
Another point that I think is sometimes overlooked is that Jesus loved/loves no one else the way he loves his mother. Any sons out there who have a loving relationship with their moms know what I mean. You put your mom on a different level then any other woman. Again, it’s a pure, true love.
For me, it makes perfect sense to not only develop a personal relationship with Jesus, but also with Our Lady. I know my husband better than I know myself. Most of that knowledge came from talking and spending time with him. But I also have had several conversations with his mother about him. It’s always interesting to get her perspective on a man that we both love, but in different ways.
Our Lady wants us to be close to Jesus, just as my mother-in-law wants me to be happy and close with her son.
Hope I wasnt rambling…I love Our Lady and no amount of Protestant preaching is EVER going to make me feel different about Her. Two years ago I lost my earthly mother to breast cancer. I now turn to Her more than ever and I find tremendous comfort in Her!

Mary led me into the church…I knew Jesus, and knew he had a mother, but I didn’t know she was also my mother

Mothers are the peacemakers, and the innovators…think of all the ways a mother gets her kids to eat their vegetables, and to do their homework, and to make up with their siblings

What better gift could we be given, besides eternal life, than a mother who loves us?

I know what you mean. Becoming a mom causes me to realize how much Jesus loves his mother and honors her and how much she loves him. If Jesus loves his mother so much to honor her, we need to do the same.

Hmmm I wonder if Jesus had any trouble eating his veggies lol. Makes you kinda wonder about something [do not mean to kill the thread I do.] I bet ya she was a great cook. 😃 I wonder what Jesus’s favorite meal was. Man I gotta go and get something to eat. Cannot get food off of my mind.

I just now, for the first time, ran into the account of Our Lady of Akita (an approved apparition in the mid-70s to 1981) and I couldn’t help but note how the prayer that was introduced by Our Lady there does exactly this. In fact, it doesn’t just lead us to her Son, it leads us to a more perfect union with Him. My wife and I are converts, and she still struggles with the fauning she sees being directed to Mary in prayers like the Memorare (although she knows and accepts all the doctrinal Truths that are trying to be expressed in that prayer), but this prayer of Our Mother is so incredibly focused on Her Son that I can’t help but see the humility of Our Mother in it:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist,
I consecrate my body and my soul to be entirely one with Your Heart
being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and
giving praise to the Father, pleading for the coming of His Kingdom.
Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will
for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls.
Most holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from Your
Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as Your Special Child.
Amen.

I just went and read about Our Lady of Akita. Wow, what a awe inspiring apparition. I had not heard of it before. That prayer is beautiful.

The Epistle of Ignatius to St. John the Apostle

Ignatius, and the brethren who are with him, John the holy presbyter.

We are deeply grieved at thy delay in strengthening us by thy addresses and consolations. If thy absence be prolonged, it will disappoint many of us. Hasten then to come, for we believe that it is expedient. There are also many of our women here, who are desirous to see Mary [the mother] of Jesus, and wish day by day to run off from us to you, that they may meet with her, and touch those breasts of hers which nourished the Lord Jesus, and may inquire of her respecting some rather secret matters. But Salome also, [the daughter of Anna, ] whom thou lovest, who stayed with her five months at Jerusalem, and some other well-known persons, relate that she is full of all graces and all virtues, after the manner of a virgin, fruitful in virtue and grace. And, as they report, she is cheerful in persecutions and afflictions, free from murmuring in the midst of penury and want, grateful to those that injure her, and rejoices when exposed to troubles: she sympathizes with the wretched and the afflicted as sharing in their afflictions, and is not slow to come to their assistance. Moreover, she shines forth gloriously as contending in the fight of faith against the pernicious conflicts of vicious1 principles or conduct. She is the lady of our new religion and repentance,2 and the handmaid among the faithful of all works of piety. She is indeed devoted to the humble, and she humbles herself more devotedly than the devoted, and is wonderfully magnified by all, while at the same time she suffers detraction from the Scribes and Pharisees. Besides these points, many relate to us numerous other things regarding her. We do not, however, go so far as to believe all in every particular; nor do we mention such to thee. But, as we are informed by those who are worthy of credit, there is in Mary the mother of Jesus an angelic purity of nature allied with the nature of humanity.3 And such reports as these have greatly excited our emotions, and urge us eagerly to desire a sight of this (if it be lawful so to speak) heavenly prodigy and most sacred marvel. But do thou in haste comply with this our desire; and fare thou well. Amen.

A Second Epistle of Ignatius to St. John.

His friend1 Ignatius to John the holy presbyter.

If thou wilt give me leave, I desire to go up to Jerusalem, and see the faithful2 saints who are there, especially Mary the mother, whom they report to be an object of admiration and of affection to all. For who would not rejoice to behold and to address her who bore the true God from her3 own womb, provided he is a friend of our faith and religion? And in like manner * the venerable James, who is surnamed Just, whom they relate to be very like Christ Jesus in appearance,4 in life, and in method of conduct, as if he were a twin-brother of the same womb. They say that, if I see him, I see also Jesus Himself, as to all the features and aspect of His body. Moreover, * the other saints, both male and female. Alas! why do I delay? Why am I kept back? Kind5 teacher, bid me hasten [to fulfil my wish], and fare thou well. Amen.

The Epistle of Ignatius to the Virgin Mary

Her friend1 Ignatius to the Christ-bearing Mary.

Thou oughtest to have comforted and consoled me who am a neophyte, and a disciple of thy [beloved] John. For I have heard things wonderful to tell respecting thy [son] Jesus, and I am astonished by such a report. But I desire with my whole heart to obtain information concerning the things which I have heard from thee, who wast always intimate and allied with Him, and who wast acquainted with [all] His secrets. I have also written to thee at another time, and have asked thee concerning the same things. Fare thou well; and let the neophytes who are with me be comforted of thee, and by thee, and in thee. Amen.

Reply of the Blessed Virgin to This Letter.

The lowly handmaid of Christ Jesus to Ignatius, her beloved fellow-disciple.

The things which thou hast heard and learned from John concerning Jesus are true. Believe them, cling to them, and hold fast the profession of that Christianity which thou hast embraced, and conform thy habits and life to thy profession. Now I will come in company with John to visit thee, and those that are with thee. Stand fast in the faith,2 and show thyself a man; nor let the fierceness of persecution move thee, but let thy spirit be strong and rejoice in God thy Saviour.3 Amen.
