I’m sure this has been discussed to great length already, but I have a question about Fatima. Personally, I am a believer in the apparitions and Our Lady’s message.
- How does reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart save souls?
- Does God really want to establish devotion to the Immaculate Heart? If so, why?
Thank you!
I’ll start with responding to your second question, and do my best to articulate a reasonable answer.
I believe that God truly wants to establish devotion to the Immaculate Heart, as there is a series of approved apparitions that show this, and often her heart is shown next to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Our Blessed Mother, full of grace, is our spiritual mother, given to us at the foot of the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. He loves His mother, and we are to imitate Him.
When Eve said “no”, everything went to Mary who said “yes”. These are mysteries that we cannot fully wrap our minds around. Her being conceived immaculate , (preserved from original sin and its effects) was totally gratuitous on the part of God,…but Mary had to grow as a great woman of faith as she responded to all the challenges in her life. I am sure we cannot understand the immensity of her sorrows without much prayer and meditation.
When we pray to make reparation for those who are indifferent, and/or outwardly ridicule our devotion to Our Lady; we should be doing so with the intention of changing the hearts of others. Only the grace of God can do that, and prayer can effect that. When the hearts of others are changed, the Body of Christ (the Church) increases in grace, and the more that grace abounds, the more the darkness in the world can recede!
Peace in Jesus and Mary,
Dorothy
