Since today, May 13, is a Sunday, you might not notice that it is the feast day for Our Lady of Fatima (also known as Our Lady of the Rosary).

90 years ago today Our Lady first began appearing to the three children in Fatima, Portugal. The several appearances were capped by a miracle on October 13, 1917 witnessed by over 70,000 people.

It is also on May 13, in 1981, that the beloved John Paul II was shot. Near death, he believed that he was saved by the intercession of Mary and later placed the bullet taken from his body into the crown worn by the Mary statue in Fatima.

Good day for a re-commitment to saying the rosary daily.

May 13th also used to be the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Eucharist. Our Lady of Fatima and the Holy Eucharist go together.

THROUGH THE INFINITE MERITS OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS AND THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, I BEG THE CONVERSION OF POOR SINNERS.”

“Oh, most Holy Trinity, I adore You! My God, my God, I love You in the most Blessed Sacrament.”
