Tomorrow will be the Feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. In these cases the observance of Sunday is supposed to take precedence. Is it wrong to still observe the Feast tomorrow while still observing Sunday?

From the General Roman Calendar 11 February ranks as an Optional Memorial. So Our Lady of Lourdes is outranked by Sunday and so should not be used in the Liturgy.

But there can be “particular calendars” that raise the rank of Our Lady of Lourdes to a Solemnity, thus outranking the Sunday in Ordinary Time. One is:
“4. … c. Solemnity of the title of a particular church.” So if there is a church named “Our Lady of Lourdes” it should celebrate this Mass tomorrow, rather than the Sunday. (Reference General Roman Calendar, table of Liturgical Days, from Roman Missal, Catholic Book Publishing Co, New York, 1985, page 68*.)

But if you wish to honor Our Lady of Lourdes privately tomorrow, go for it! I’m sure she’d be quite pleased.

I’m sure in many parts of France, including the diocese Lourdes is part of, it is regareded as a Solemnity and thus would still be observed. And I bet if it were Lent right now, then they would observe it on either Saturday the 10 or Monday the 12th. However, there is nothing wrong personally observing the event in your heart. I watched The Song of Bernedette this weekend. I told my RCIA students about it yesterday.
