Dear Brothers and Sisters,

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

July 16 is of my favorite Feast-Days because I have always been blessed not only by Our Blessed Mother but by those saints who belong to her Order. St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Edith Stein – to name a few – have continually helped me by their writings.

For more information on this Feast see HERE

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel was the name of the parish I attended when I was received into the Catholic Church. I could have.possibly been received on her feast day, but I chose July 15th the feast day of St. Bonaventure. I wasn’t sure if the parish would be able to do my private reception that day or not.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the name of a Roman Catholic church in the Diocese of Youngstown, which is located in Ohio.

A Most Efficacious Prayer To Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
(Never Found to Fail)

O most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. (Mention your intention.) O Star of the Sea, help me and show me in this that thou art my Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech thee, from the bottom of my heart, to succour me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand thy power. O, show me in this that thou art my Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times).

Sweet Mother, I place this cause in thy hands. (3 times.)

It is suggested to offer three times the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be in Thanksgiving.

I registered on CAF just to reply to how lovely that prayer is, poliki. My parish is Carmelite, so needless to say we are putting on quite a celebration on the 20th in recognition of her feast day. We had a Novena this week in the lead up to her feast day. I was consecrated to Our Lady last month, so I feel so entitled to have her Brown Scapular. Every Rosary I pray is devoted to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.

Dear Water of Life,

Welcome to CAF and thanks for your reply to this thread! Yes, it is a very beautiful prayer which poliki posted. It is a prayer many of us use in praying a novena before the Feast on July 16.

How lovely that you were consecrated to our Lady! Today on July 13, I will begin my own preparation to reconsecrate myself to Jesus through Mary using St. Louis de Montfort’s Act of Consecration.

The Brown Scapular of our Lady is a great gift and blessing also. May the Lord bless all His children through Mary.

That’s so wonderful! Welcome to the forums! :grouphug:

There is a carmelite chapel near where I live. It is one of my favorite places to be. Very peaceful and beautiful.
Plus they have a really fantastic gift shop!😉

I had the privilege today, July 16th 2014, of being received into the Third Order Carmelites (Ancient Observance) in Birmingham, England.
This is not to be considered an ending, or an arriving, but as being the start of the path which ends only when we stand before the throne of God.
I hope and pray that I shall be encouraged and supported by the Family of Carmel on this journey.

Tomorrow is my birthday, which is not only the day after this feast day, but is also the feast day of the “Blessed Martyrs of Compiegne” who were Carmelite nuns put to death during the French Revelution.

Dear Keith,

May our Lord and our Lady of Mount Carmel continue to bless you on your journey home to our Father’s House!

Dear Christy Beth,

Happy and Holy Birthday, Christi Beth! July 17 is also the Feast day of Our Lady of Humility. This feast is an old one and not on most calendars, but a nun who taught me chose to celebrate this Feast in particular as her “name day”. She has passed away now but I always felt she truly was a humble person. Sister Mary Geraldine was one of my favorite teachers! 🙂

Thank you - I appreciate your kind thoughts
Every Blessing
Keith
