On 16 July 2006, I was web surfing. At that time I liked (and still do) to surf on the topic of “this day in history”. I no longer remember the chain of web sites that led me to the Rose Scapular Company, but led I was.

So I read about the Brown Scapular. In the FAQ was this paragraph…

@@@@@@@@@

I’m not Catholic but I want to wear the Scapular, what if I can’t get to a priest to enroll me?

Our answer is put it on anyway and wear it faithfully, try to get to a priest to enroll you if you can. Otherwise we leave you in the hands of the Blessed Mother and Jesus. They often work miracles, as we have seen so many times with the Scapular.

@@@@@@@@@

At that time, I was a wishy-washy UU Pagan, sober in AA 22 years, and willing to keep an open mind. So I bought the Scapular. Then the Green Scapular. Then joined RCIA. Began the daily rosary. Confirmed at the 2007 Easter Vigil.

After confirmation I had the two scapulars properly blest and invested. A few months later I had the five-fold scapular properly blest and invested.

Thank you, my Lady of Mt. Carmel

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Welcome to the Church!

I went to the Mass of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel this evening in the parish that the Carmelite Fathers have here in Pamplona. Our (fantastic) archbishop–God has really blessed with an outstanding one–celebrated a lovely Mass in honor of Our Lady.

HAPPY FEAST DAY TO ALL CARMELITES AND DEVOTEES OF OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL! :blessyou:

May the devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the brown scapular increase!

When I went to Mass this morning, I wasn’t aware (until I opened the Magnificat) what feast day it was! My heart jumped because I’ve been doing the Litany to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for some time now.

After communion, I raised my head and looked at our Lady’s statue on the left side of the church. I felt **SUCH AN URGENCY **to pray for the world. (I do all the time anyway, but somehow this seemed so different.)

I pray that we were all blessed today by this wonderful feast day!

Awesome!

I credit Our Lady of Mount Carmel, with my return to the faith… after a 10 year absence. She is truly our loving Mother.
