what do you think the response would have been if the Pope has opened his remarks in the stadium he performed mass in. with a homily reaffirmint=g the primacy of the catholic church? why wouldnt he … had a nice big receptiv audience, most of whom, ibelieve wewe catholic. i think they would have welcomed as strong a reffirmation of their faith as the pope could have made. he certainly couldnt have been ashamed of his belief. after all he is the pope. why do you suppose he neve thought it important to reassure catholics in one of the most profound ways you can, bu tellingn them of their natural superiority.

It appears to me you are a non-white, non-Christian, non-American, woman or teenager who is handicapped or has inadequate keyboarding skills. You are angry at America, whites, men who have power over others, and God. You have suffered in some way, or have known those who have, or have great empathy for those who suffer.

Your anger at the Catholic church is founded on a misinterpretation of the pope’s pronouncements.

You are angry at God because the world is the way it is, because of natural disasters and accidents and the evil that people do? What about the beauty and good people doing good things? The situation is still very bad there, especially for the elderly and the poorer people. The government has really let them down. My preferred course of action would be to write a letter to the editor of my diocesan newspaper and my representatives in congress. Our priest doesn’t make many announcements but our social action committee could get together a bulletin insert that would have the same effect, not a bad idea.

No, I don’t mean help in understanding your questions - but a spiritual helper and perhaps someone to attend to your physical and emotional needs. Job went through a lot of suffering in his life and never cursed God for it. His friends blamed God for everything, but not Job. Maybe you should learn from his example?

You are asking the same questions that millions of other people have asked, yet they still have faith. They still love. They do the best they can to help others. Your questions go back to the issue of the “problem of evil”. Many philosophers and theologians have postulated their ideas about it. Our finite minds cannot fully understand the infinite mind of God our Father.

That’s not a cop-out. That’s reality, unless you are God Himself.

Back to your question about the 25,000 children who die daily. There are many other children who suffer abuse on a daily basis also. One way to look at this is to look at it from God’s perspective. If He sees the end result and sees that these children will have more and more suffering in the future, why isn’t it merciful for Him to allow them to die a physical death and be resurrected to be with Him where they live in bliss?

It’s not God’s fault that some people in poor countries CHOOSE to have 12 kids that they can’t support financially. It’s not His fault that some parents CHOOSE to abuse their children. We have to stop blaming God for the evil in the world and place much of the blame on ourselves.

You say God has the power to change it. That’s true. Why would He seek to change a decision YOU made? It’s not His responsibility to clean up the mess. He allows His creation to follow their paths and hope that they turn to Him and make the right choices. It’s up to us to obey.

Whenever I want to doubt God or place too much blame, I remind myself of the verse, “I am the clay, you (God) are the Potter, how can the clay say to the Potter: Why did you make me this way?” It’s a valid question.

Do what you can to make a difference. That’s all He asks.

everything in to following pargraph is your fault… i have no idea why, but i just did something that is so stupid thati i know i cant be at fault, someone must be to blame, and you are the first one i can get o, of course i could blame God but i n=know he ouldnt be that evil
i have a hard time typing i never learned nor had to, i type with two fingers. fine. i have arthritis hand claw type so i am never quite sure whern the finger is going to go and which key it is going to hit. Thats just innpassing and hasd nothing to do with anybody but me. ill either make the adjustment or not. however every once in a while, and always always always toard the END of my writing something mysterious happesn.
i had just written you an answwer to you very astute kind and intelligent leteer, completely demolishing all you aguements. l=done. long letter. to stress the point i really pounded the last period, missed the key, and hit instead that strange mysterious key thay only pops up tooffer itself to my finger when i am almost done with the letter. i dont know what key it is because as soon as its jiob is done it disappears. if you hit it, by accident , as i do over and over and over again your entire written output disappears. where to i do not knopw, gone forever, someplace out ther in the ether these messages, the ones that were typed falmost finished and then disappeared are collecting. soon their collective mass will be such that their gravity will start having an affect on the earths orbit. then look out i must rest my fingersa. so later if you decide to use the free will that God gave you to read what i write.
