Every morning we awake to face another day; never knowing what the day will bring. It’s so wonderful to be alive; such a grace, to breathe the breath of life. I often ponder many thoughts about the countless millions of unborn souls who will never be able to breathe the breath of life as we do. Why? I don’t know, and never will be able to comprehend how this has become so common place in our society today. I believe that most people are good, loving, and caring people, even those who for one reason or another made a choice to take another’s breath away. I never have, and never will, point a finger at, or condemn another person for having or taking part in the abortion act; I certainly am not without sin. Can we honestly look ourselves in the mirror and proclaim the right to end another person’s life; especially in the sacred place of a mother’s womb, I don’t think so. Because I feel this way about this, the most important subject facing humanity today; do I have the right to express my opinion, or to ask my elected officials to respect life as I do? From the very depths of my soul, I believe I do. Not only to ask them but to demand from them that they respect every human life from the moment of conception to natural death. We as people of faith who proclaim to be believers in an Almighty God have an obligation to voice our opinions and cast our votes for people who will protect life with every legal means at their disposal once they are elected to office. To say that we must be silent or that we do not have the right to speak up for these innocent babies is ludicrous. If we refuse to speak up for them, then who will. I pray that we will take very seriously our obligation in support of life. I pray also that our loving and patient God will inspire us, that we will be strong and never fear the forces of evil that are behind this genocide.
