Please pray for all of our soldiers and my son who will be leaving Iraq to work in Afghanistan. For the health of my family.
I am honored to pray for our soldiers overseas and stateside.
Almighty God ,please keep them safe and faithful.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 26 (27)
Keeping faith in time of peril

The Lord is my light and my help: whom should I fear?
The Lord protects my life: what could terrify me?
When they come to do me harm, to consume my flesh,
my enemies and my persecutors, it is they who stumble and fall.

If their armies encamp against me, my heart will not fear;
if battle flares up against me, even then will I hope.

One thing I beg of the Lord, one thing will I ask: that I may live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
so that I may behold the joys of the Lord and always see his temple.

For he will shelter me in his tent in the time of evils.
He will hide me in the hidden parts of the tabernacle; then raise me up on a rock,
lift me high up above the enemies who surround me.

In his tabernacle I will offer him a sacrifice of shouts, of songs, of psalms to the Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

O God, I beseech You,
watch over those exposed to the horror of war,
and the spiritual dangers of a soldier’s life.

Give them such a strong faith
that no human respect may ever lead them to deny it,
nor fear ever to practice it.
By Your grace, O God,
fortify them against the contagion of bad example,
that being preserved from vice,
and serving You faithfully,
they may be ready to meet you face to face
when they are so called:
through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Sacred Heart!
Inspire them with sorrow for sin,
and grant them pardon.

Mother of God!
Be with them on the battlefield during life
and at the hour of death,
and grant that they may live and die
in the grace of thy Son.

Amen.

St. Joseph!
Pray for them.

Praying daily for the safety of our military and first responders!

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 29 (30)
Thanksgiving for rescue from death
Lord, I will give you all praise, for you have rescued me and not let my foes triumph over me.
My Lord God, I cried to you and you healed me.
Lord, you led my soul out from the underworld, gave me life so that I would not sink into the abyss.

Sing to the Lord, his holy ones, and proclaim the truth of his holiness.
His anger lasts a moment, but his favour for a lifetime.
At night there are tears, but in the morning, joy.

Once I was secure. I said, “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, by your favour you had given me strength, set me high;
but then you turned your face from me and I was shaken.
I cried to you, Lord, and prayed to my God.

“What use is my life, when I sink into decay?
Will dust proclaim you, or make known your faithfulness?”

The Lord heard and took pity on me. The Lord became my helper.

You have turned my weeping into dancing, torn off my sackcloth and clothed me in joy,
It is my glory to sing to you and never cease: Lord, my God, I will proclaim your goodness for ever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

… and praying in union with the Guardian Angel of Afghanistan for peace in Afghanistan.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Continuing to pray for all men and women in the military. My son will be leaving soon for the Middle East for his tour. We don’t know how long he will be gone but we pray for his safety. May God keep them all safe.

Continued prayers for you.

BTW Rocket- Thank God my parish prays for our soldiers weekly in the Prayers of the faithful. In addition, many people here prayed for my son and our other soldiers until they returned home safely. These brave folks and their anxious families deserve as much.

Toni,
Your son is still in my prayers…Would he be able to wear a St. Christopher medal for protection, my Dad did and he loved his but not sure how the military regulations go…? May God watch over him and keep him safe ,till he returns home safely once again…Sis in Christ, LynneMarie

St. Michael the Archangel, St. George, St. Joan of Arc, St. Maurice, pray for our troops.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. Chris did have a Saint Christopher medal but I am unsure if he is able to wear it. The laws over in the Middle East are much different. He called and told my husband tonight that he is in Afghanistan now and has his new mission. he is working with the Rangers. He said it is very beautiful there. The people are very happy to have the military presence in Afghanistan. Thank you again for your prayers and I will keep all of those who posted with military family in my prayers as well.
I have told Christopher how thankful many of you are for is yes to the
I am proud of him in between my worry for him. My mother raised all of her children to be patriotic and I am sure she is watching over him from heaven. Again thank you to you all.🙂 …

My wife bought my youngest son a religious medal when he went to fight in the Middle East but he couldn’t wear it. We even had to be careful what we sent him in packages. Kind of sad that we’re over there protecting them but have to watch our step. When they come over here they have religious freedom! Go figure!

I know rocket we were also told that by many people in Iraq. Do not send bible’s religious articles etc. It is sad that everyone has there religious freedom over here. We were also told not to put Sargaent on any of his letters since the families back home can get the recourse from people here.
