Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

The place I was “working” at with no pay has almost gone under. Our announcement:
Nik’s Place, the GCSS’ Community Connections Centre, is moving to a smaller location in Kemptville. Programming will be suspended temporarily. Once we have established a new location, we will make a public announcement about future programming. Thanks to everyone who is supporting us.

We have no funding and thus cannot pay the rent. At the moment we do not have a smaller location to move to. The landlord has given us many breaks, but we are in no position to carry on. We are ‘retreating’ in order to get our ducks in order, develop a proper business plan, get funding for rent, bills, and salaries, etc.
We hope to be able to open again soon. If it be God’s will I might be able to help out again there – but next time with pay.
My epilepsy has started to appear again. No seizures, but I have had a few auras, something I’ve lived without since having brain surgery in 2003.

For the first time in my life I had to visit a food bank last week.

I wish stores had a jar inside the door where one could drop one’s pride into and leave it there.

You who give me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances of my life you are with me. I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things and to confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you, even and in spite of all material illusion. I want to be with you in eternal glory. thank you for your mercy toward me and mine.
