I’ve been away from Catholic Answers for some time now, largely due to my work schedule. It’s hard to get an aging body used to working nights, especially when I usually have six in a row off. (Then work three, two off, work three, six off …)

Pushing a broom is not a great use of the education that God gave me.
But I know that all that that happens is either God’s Will or is allowed by God for the good of our immortal souls.

When I was working nights, I found it helpful to stay on the same schedule whether I was working or not, rather than try to “be normal” on my days off.

I also found it important to arrange things so that I was awake at a time when I could run errands and socialize with friends and family members every day, because working by yourself can make you crazy, if you don’t have human contact during the off hours.
