UPDATE

First of all a big thank you and God bless you to all who have continued praying for me. I have been away from Catholic Answers for quite a while, largely due to working nights.
My night shifts have come to an end … unless God has other plans.

2016 saw me still working as a part-time cleaner but being called upon to work 4 - 5 days a week.

Now I’m only working 4 hours a day for 3 days and 7 hours (actually 6.5 due to lunch) on the fourth day.
Plenty of time to look for work or get a second part time job, eh?

Living in a small town and using a bicycle in good weather, and just my legs when there’s salt on the roads, leaves me with few opportunities. Or maybe it’s just my lack of imagination and/or pride.
I’d love to use some of the ‘smarts’ I supposedly obtained at university. But God has given me a humble job of true service.
(I get inspired by my second patron saint, St. ‘Brother’ André of Montreal.)

You sound exhausted. Take good care of yourself and don’t worry.

My mother always points out that a good education isn’t about getting a good job - that’s what apprenticeships are for.

A good education means that no matter what you do for a living, you’ll always have something interesting to think about.

You got me thinking jmcrae. (Ouch!) ^That’s the kind of thinking that my son has followed. It took him over two years after high school before applying for university. He insisted that he wanted and education, not job training.
He now has a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy. His career for the past, oh almost, 15 years has been working with produce in supermarkets.
(It will be very interesting to see where this leads. Right now he’s doing a lot of volunteering … maybe social work, or better yet, the priesthood!)

First of all a big thank you and God bless you to all who have continued praying for me. I have been away from Catholic Answers for quite a while, largely due to working nights. My night shifts have come to an end … unless God has other plans.

2016 saw me still working as a part-time cleaner but being called upon to work 4 - 5 days a week.

Now I’m only working 4 hours a day for 3 days and 7 hours (actually 6.5 due to lunch) on the fourth day.
Plenty of time to look for work or get a second part time job, eh?

Living in a small town and using a bicycle in good weather, and just my legs when there’s salt on the roads, leaves me with few opportunities. Or maybe it’s just my lack of imagination and/or pride.
I’d love to use some of the ‘smarts’ I supposedly obtained at university. But God has given me a humble job of true service.
(I get inspired by my second patron saint, St. ‘Brother’ André of Montreal.)

I have a job but haven’t been paid for four months and the payment promised by the end of September for work done in April through July remains unpaid as well due to a political situation in India. Apparently they have a new man in charge of the bank there and isn’t signing the papers necessary to let funds out to pay us yet. And we are also struggling to find a new customer to pay us for work and use our software. Please pray for us.

I have had to borrow off my life insurance policy to pay for the mortgage.

That also won’t last forever.
